Yeah, I have that enabled but it doesn't work all the time. There's another security setting that disables usb file access if the phone hasn't been unlocked within an hour. That sounds plausible because I would usually have checked the phone when I picked it up but not always. So we'll see if that does it.

you have to plug in or do you have wireless android auto? on my 23 XL I have to plug in. it has worked every time though. is your phone OS all up to date?

Regarding sending info to insurance companies or whatever, it appears that feature was already turned off when I just checked. Did I do it? I'm not sure. I may have and just forgot.

Try using a known good USB cable to plug the phone into the truck. It may be an issue with the wireless dongle

He has a 2025 with Sync 4 which is all wireless...no dongles or cords to mess with.

Technically he can plug it in but it will still do wireless by default (I think). He says it connects but drops sometimes. I think there's some more diagnosing to do.

I have a lowly 23 XLT also, and love it and just got a wireless dongle that works effortlessly. Now I have a fake Sync4 for $10...lol

Shoot your XLT doesn't even have Sync 3! More like Sync 2.5lite (they don't even call it Sync)....only the 22-24 Lariats have Sync 3

That few bucks Ford saved not making Sync 3 standard across the board is totally biting them in the ass now.

Tried to reach around their elbow to scratch their ass and now they are finding out.

True, but, I can still connect my Andriod phone either with a cable or a wireless adapter and enjoy XM, Navigation (I use Waze or Google maps), hands free calls and text to voice, so I'm not sure I'm missing any functionality.

I was looking at my XL, about this issue. And noticed the "insurance" option.
Mine was 'Turned Off", as I have never messed with those adjustments yet..
