Have you had the opportunity to read the manual? Pages 431 to 439 can guide you through the process. Take your time....you got this!
I infact printed the whole manual this morning

You might just drive by the dealership if its convenient and talk to your salesman . It's their job to show you how the features work.
Thank you and Happy New Year

Your dealer should have taken time to answer any questions you had before you left the lot with your Maverick.

Their customer experience rep will be more than happy to answer questions that have developed over the week of ownership.

Call your salesman and ask him to set up a time for you to meet with the person to review new features.

So I got this maverick not quite a week ago.
There is lot of things to learn about this truck and I am an old dog (75 in two days).
I have been working on and with computers for the last 30 years.
I am not so familiar with phones and tablets.
I got Ford pass and so on but I cannot find the Ford navigation maps on my sync 4.
I have been fighting with it probably 4 hours today and I logged in Alexa and this junk but to no avail.
Now I even lost google maps.
I need help.
Thank you.

Try all the normal things you would do with phone and app troubleshooting. Android auto mirrors what's on your phone. Boot the phone, You can try uninstalling and reinstalling Android auto on your phone. And you can do a factory reset of the head unit. First check to make sure your cable is good and it's connecting good to your phone. Similar things if it's an iPhone.

Yesterday it was working not today, who knows why?

There is good news on the horizon. Ford upper management finally had the emotional intelligence to realize that the company absolutely sucks at tech (Sync 4 is literally a decade behind the competition). And that's why the Ford Digital Experience (which is the next gen OS rolling out to all cars) is based on the Google Automotive Operating System.

Technology should just work, intuitively and obviously. No manuals required. No half hour lessons upon car delivery. It should just work. If it doesn't, then you should be angry. I developed tech for 30 years. My tech always worked. And my users always loved me. ROTFL -> except when it didn't and they didn't...

Apple has an auto OS coming too, according to the pundits, but it hasn't been released. It'll be interesting in ten years to see if people refuse to buy an Apple OS car because they have Android devices, and vice versa.

PS: Do not confuse this operating with Android Auto, etc. Not the same thing.

Ask your dealership or salesperson for help in setting this stuff up. Bring the truck in and ask them to spend some time with you reviewing how the tech stuff and connectivity to your phone works. You spent a ton of money. They should be more than willing to help you.

Just last week my Android auto stopped connecting. I cleared the cache for the Android auto app in my phone and it's working again. This also fixed some issues my daughter was having in her Ecosport (also sync 3).

Was that a moose hit?
Naw, it was just a pic I found on the internet. Thought I'd try to lighten the mood a bit. ;)

I do understand Frenchy's frustration, though. My Maverick hasn't been an issue for me, but technology has gotton the better of me on occasion, too.

I agree with those recommending the dealer. (y)Sync 4 should be familiar enough to them by now, since it's so common in Fords.

Don't forget to order more toner!

It'll be interesting in ten years to see if people refuse to buy an Apple OS car because they have Android devices, and vice versa.
It's not Android itself that would stop me, but google's propensity to track you senseless.

I would want to see a serious audit showing that no data flows to google.

I'd have the same problem with a hypothetical Amazon system, let alone Adobe. (And this would be a good place to insert a joke about Microsoft and crashing! :teehee:)

Whether it's benevolence, diabolically calculated marketing evil, or somewhere between, Apple has latched on to privacy as scaleable, and engineers to that marketing agenda.

All in all, though, I'd prefer neither apple or google in there. Provide basic display, and let customers bring their own phone. I find it highly improbable that Ford or Garmin will be able to keep up with either Android or iOS. [hmm would have to catch them first . . . ]
