Sorry but i just test drove a 2022 escape titanium hybrid and no engine cover..
You are right. I was going off the videos for the 2020 Escape Hybrid. It had an engine cover then, but all the videos on the 2021 and 2022 have no engine cover. They do seem to have the engine insulation though.

I'm from Texas and that's not true.

Sure, two of my brothers are named Colt ... but the other one isn't.
And the other one is Poindexter?

A) The folks doing these videos need to remember LANDSCAPE mode.
B) I really want opinions on how they drive: noise level, suspension, torque (probably plenty given the comments, but still).

But, I really, really appreciate the videos!

After watching this video, I came away with only one thing.... Tim from Long MacArthur is really knowledgeable. These dudes barely knew the powertrain and price range.
Was it just me, or did you feel like it was unfair these guys who know nothing got to drive one and here we sit.

Personally, I learned a lot from this video. I had no idea Ford had a new Maverick on the way. It has four doors AND four wheels. Everyone likes it. Oh, and everyone says it is "torquey" I also learned that there was no wildfire smoke in Texas the day they shot the video. That last one is just my observation.

Unfair would be an understatement. At this point, catching a glimpse of a maverick in the wild would cause me to faint like a teenage girl seeing the Beatles.

I was shocked to discover that there are 1 liter bottle holders!

I think it is safe to say the Colt brothers are more at home selling F150's.

I think the lesson here is, if you are going to put yourself out there, at least know something about the subject. Have an intelligent balanced critique of that subject that will actually be helpful to the folks on this forum. Forum attendees are desperate for information to either reinforce and cement their choice, or make another choice before it is too late. Going off on side tracks insulting others does not do any of that. Humor does ease the pain of the LONG wait though.....

This is no test drive video, 15 seconds of driving and they pull over.
that is what I thought too, where is the test drive? I am having hybrid remorse!! The 2.0 may get over 30 mpg on the highway versus hybrid 34 mpg average? why buy a hybrid for a couple of miles more?

The hybrid is averaging that across city and hwy.
While the 2.0 average you're referring to, is mainly hwy driving.
Totally depends on your situation if it's worth it to you.
One way or the other, you will give up something going with either.

Ecoboost trainer units may be reporting just shy of 30mpg but I've also seen mentioned the trainer hybrids are getting 40mpg. So unless they gave the hybrids only to training reps who travel shorter distances I think you're still going to be close to 30% better gas mileage with the hybrid.
