Man that's a lot of miles? I don't have 3,400 miles on mine Yet and got it on April 15,2025. When did You get Yours?
About mid May. I've been putting those types of miles on my vehicles for the last 9 years. But I didn't really pay as much attention because they all had over 100,000 miles when I bought them. This is the first where I put all the miles on it myself. And the only one with a warranty. So I'm seeing it evaporate😅. Hopefully I have the same experience with this as with the others in that I had no powertrain issues. I don't like working on my own stuff because it's free work😂. I didn't really feel like changing the oil or rotating my tires yesterday after working on everybody else's. I didn't mind doing that airbag warning light recall because I got paid to work on my own truck. Likewise with the first oil change and tire rotation. They were complimentary. So I got paid then too, 😂

It's much less common though.
If the battery drain issue is uncovered during warranty period and not fixed...can owners assume it remains a warranty issue even after the warranty expiration date? My other vehicle(s) warranties kept if covered until resolved.

I don't have the sleeping battery issue but if I did, I think I'd be looking at the lemon law.

I'm sure Ford has a few test vehicles because they've had to buy some of them back through the lemon law. Ford had agreed to buy the vehicle back we're dealing with. It sat at our shop for a couple of months just waiting. But the person who was in charge of following through at the business who owned it dropped the ball and missed the agreed upon deadline by a couple of weeks. That's on them because Ford had already made an exception for them since the vehicle was far beyond the normal time. It was about 2 1/2 years old.

Document everything and then escalate it yourself to Ford and get a commitment from them that they are going to extend their warranty to address the issue if it is beyond the 3/36K. If they don't then file a lemon law case - that will get their attention.

Is the air bag warning light a quick fix time wise? I have the recall but didn't get it done yet?

I don't know for sure. But typically Ford eventually issues a "recall" which in essence is an extension of the warranty. They may say that it's covered until x miles and y time. But they'll also say that if the vehicle has excee

It literally takes about 10 minutes. I spent more time getting the parts, and pulling it inside the shop and writing it up after it was done than the actual repair. If you get your oil changed at the dealership, that's a convenient time to have it done.

The problem can be sometimes mitigated by starting it daily
My truck has a less severe version of the problem, even with starting it daily. On mine, I don't get the sleep mode, and the dome lights work, but the 12v accessory circuit shuts off when you exit the truck ( it should stay on for 40 minutes). I wouldn't have noticed except that that is the circuit with the Flexbed connection and I added some lights in the bed.
I think my dealer was going to do the AC module fix. We'll see if that helps.

So it seems that Ford was aware it would not fix every problem. But they were confident enough that it would fix a good number of them.
I work in an office at a Ford Dealership, Ford has asked if I would put a flight recorder on mine to monitor it. A local friend who purchased one, doesn't drive it enough did a buy back since his was dead almost every other day.

My 1.5 year old mav just started giving me the sleep mode after no issues at all up to now. One of the early theories was that by double locking with the fob the truck would shut down more stuff than if you just locked it once, or not at all. I followed this religiously even when parking in my garage and thought it was helping, but I guess it was for naught.

So I called up the dealer and told them my battery was dying and did they have a program to replace it. (they just replaced my daughter's battery on her ecoboost for free and it was 3 years old.) They said yes and to bring it in. Battery failed warranty test and they replaced it with an agm battery. I don't see on the receipt where they did any software update. Hopefully it'll last until I can go full EV with the new Ford midsize truck or the Slate. (Don't hate me)

Yes - but I wouldn't get the cheapest one.
And the reviews that say accurate, without a comment about testing with multimeter - what a joke, how would they know.

I've had 2, both are off by 0.2 V at resting voltage - but the 1st one increases as V goes up.

I've seen several cheap ones that are not consistently off, they are constantly varying off by some amount.
That's worthless.

Since the idea is to watch for a direction happening.
At least consistently off you can test with a multimeter and just always subtract, say 0.2, and see what's happening.

ok, question for everyone that has commented on this thread, I was told by service manager that since I have had so many issues with my Mav, to just keep a battery charger going for it...(this is my 3rd battery btw), so being frustrated enough with this problem I decided to do that ( with the help from person here)..so long story short, I did that and I have left the charger on twice for over 2 hours each time, went from blinking red to green, that's what it is supposed to do, right? Well I just checked if it was indeed charged and guess what, no interior lights come on...HOW COME?

It does need to log the fact the voltage is higher than the cutoff line for battery saving functions to kick in.

Start truck. Turn it off.
Now what?

What make/model of charger did you get?
May be a benefit of leaving it on longer than just reaching green:
It may go into a repair mode after fully charged.
It may show green when it's charged as fully as it's Ah can do, but you have to leave it on longer to reach the Ah the battery can do.
