Posted about my “dead” battery the other day in a different post. Still seems to be going down slowly after 2 long drives to charge. Some one asked about contents under back seat in a 25 hybrid in a post. One comment was, which didn’t explain “will draw down battery”. So, if you think every thing is “off”, what can cause a drain on the 12v battery.

So. Just what is our Maverick thinking about when it's sitting in our driveway? Just like my phone, it's still busy when it's "off". I wonder how much of an inconvenience it would be to wake it up if I disconnected or switched the battery for long term parking?

Want your fob unlock button to work? Or keyless entry to work?

Then the truck receiver for it is on 24/7.

Want security for your truck?

Then that and some sensors are on 24/7.

Want Remote start and access ability?

Then a modem is brought up every hour to make sure the network connection is kept valid with a few bits of data.

25-50 mA of draw is expected - not much, and a decently charged 12VB should be able to support that for awhile.

What is your date of mfg for 25MY?

Opening the door to swap batteries would wake it up outta sleep mode at minimum.
So it would take upwards of another 75 min (60 25MY) at potentially higher level of draw (0.3 to 0.5 A I measured in initial 30 min), so still not super bad, but there are probably spikes in there due to some testing of systems before sleepy town.
Not sure if a reset by disconnecting battery would result in higher drain on basically an initial bootup - but at least not a start and run.
