At least until my loan is paid off, but I have already decided that my next vehicle will be an electric car. So I am hoping within 5 years the charging capacity across the country is better. But then again as a home owner having a truck that can do the little things I need to do as evidenced by my pictures of some storm cleanup I did with it, I may trade it in for a new model down the road.

I have always kept my vehicles for a long time, my 2001 Ranger lasted until they released the Maverick. However, given the number of alternatives that are now on the horizon I am going to keep an open mind about getting something that checks more boxes for me in the future.
Plug in Hybrid with all wheel drive or any hybrid with more offroad capabilities than my FWD hybrid Maverick.
My hope is that my 2022 Maverick will have pretty good trade in value for at least the next 5 years so it won't hurt too bad when I buy a new car that is more expensive.

If I don’t have major issues 4-5 years. If I have no issues I’d keep it for 8. Love this truck minus the engine shudder. If it gets fixed tomorrow - going in for TSB 23-2209 to fix this issue - then I would definitely keep it for a while
Getting the engine shudder eliminated is like finding youth again.

Plan was for 3 years then replace it with a PHEV Maverick, but now that Cyber Orange is discontinued, plus no PHEV model in the pipeline, the odds are will get an extended warranty and keep it to 100k miles, or more.

I will run it until it dies unless significant and/or costly maintenance items pop up. The cool thing is, replacement engines even should be fairly inexpensive. We like to hold on to our cars for a long time. Our Porsche Boxster, which we bought used, was made the month and year we were married. Once we discovered that we both agreed it's never going away. We're not a fan of replacing cars every few years. Lot of wasted money.
How has your Boxster been for reliability? I know most German cars are very expensive to repair when out of warranty, but I've heard Porsche's are more reliable than BMW or Mercedes.

Who knows exactly, but probably 4-5 years. Only the 2nd new vehicle I've ever purchased. Other one I kept about 4 years. I tend to buy mildly used cars, fix them a bit, then sell them after a couple years.

Hopefully we see some Maverick competition down the road too to keep options open and keep Ford from becoming complacent on the Mav.

I was going to trade it in for a 2024 lariat model with smart cruise control but decided to keep my old 2022 AWL luxury packaged 4k tow. She's awesome enough and I only drive about 10 miles a week so I'm thinking generation's 😀.

Yeah, I considered that, but I couldn't find a local Ford service department competent with the hybrid. The extended warranty wouldn't have helped in my case.
