  1. Finally Used the Portable Jump Box

Check engine light went off after the battery was replaced. I didn't get an AGM, so I'm essentially back to the way it was with the original.
  2. Finally Used the Portable Jump Box

Clearly some have had battery drain issues. Fortunately, my battery gave out at a normal replacement interval.
  3. Finally Used the Portable Jump Box

That's phenomenal. The best I've had was my 2019 Mustang, when the original lasted until 2025. It was an outlier, though. The Texas heat kills most of them sooner than that.
  4. Finally Used the Portable Jump Box

Glad it was easy for you, but it's a tighter and more awkward spot compared to a battery in the engine compartment. At first it looked like I would need to go out and buy a longer bolt extension than I currently own. Then I watched a video where someone pulled out the plastic pieces around the...
  5. Finally Used the Portable Jump Box

Yes, the original battery lasted 4 years, which as I mentioned in my original post is typical.
  6. Finally Used the Portable Jump Box

I was probably lucky I charged it for a road trip fairly recently.
  7. Finally Used the Portable Jump Box

Yes. The positive post is covered by a red rubber piece. The negative post sticks upward out of the fender. Top right portion of the engine compartment when facing the truck from the front.
  8. Finally Used the Portable Jump Box

Yes. Before any road trip with either of two vehicles. The last time I had charged it was early in June of this year.
  9. Finally Used the Portable Jump Box

Last night my '22 Maverick hybrid with 38k miles wouldn't start but fortunately, the jump box I bought on Amazon 3 years ago did the trick to get it started. I bought it because of all the reports of 12 volt battery failures, but I never had to use it until now. Four years is typical of...
  10. Latest Hybrid vs EcoBoost Comparison Showdown (The Fast Lane)

I walk past my hybrid Maverick and get in my Mustang GT when I want to have some fun.
  11. 5/3/26 DFW Texas Meet

Most of ours typically have 12-15 trucks. I think our best was 19. I quit doing them for awhile after we only had 7-8 last fall. This was our first one in '26 and I think we had 16, maybe 17.
  12. 5/3/26 DFW Texas Meet

I just post the event in both places. No need for a link. It helped that the FB group already existed when I discovered it, with a good portion of its members not on MTC.
  13. 5/3/26 DFW Texas Meet

One thing that's helped me do the meets is also being in a DFW Maverick Facebook group. We now get more from there than here (although there's quite a few in both).
  14. 5/3/26 DFW Texas Meet

Yeah Kenneth brought that silver one to one of our first meets. I met the owner of the Hertz truck, Shawn, at the meet. He said he actually did the work on his and Kenneth's Mavericks. Somebody else took this pic of the bed.
  15. If you bought Maverick again today… Hybrid or EcoBoost

I'd get the hybrid again because of the fuel mileage. I suspect the engine will last longer than a turbocharged engine as well. If the Maverick was my only vehicle I'd consider getting an Ecoboost and doing suspension mods and a tune, but I have a Mustang for spirited driving.

    DFW, Texas Mavericks

    DFW Maverick July Meet

C'mon out and meet fellow Maverick owners, check out their trucks and mods, exchange info, take photos, etc. Location is the Gas Monkey Icehouse, The Colony, TX. We'll eat lunch at about 11:30.

  19. Who still has their Maverick purchased new?

There's a shaking vibration when accelerating more than lightly, which matches what others here have described. Cruising along or under light acceleration everything is normal.
  20. Who still has their Maverick purchased new?

Bought my Lariat hybrid new in July of '22. I can tell my CV axles are going to need replacement soon, and it has a dash rattle that comes and goes, but otherwise it's been serving me well.
