The length of the OEM prop rod is limited by the length of the radiator on which it clip.

The length is fine if you’re under the hood once a year to check your dipstick. But for those of us under the hood weekly+ took the easy route to come up with longer solutions. As you say - easy, make it longer, done:)
Hopefully I won't have to spend much time under the hood for a long time.

If someone had told me this thread could go on this long, I probably would have died laughing!! Actually, I have gotten quite a few laughs from it though...................;) Just make sure the rod is stiff when needed!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is NOT a prop rod hole. Tried it once & hood almost fell down. Although I have a 2025 EB - maybe Hybrids have a spare hole…Note there are identical holes on the other side of hood…

Works for me 100% of the time I use it which is 27.8% of the time.
NO DANGER of it falling down.
The opposite. Can be a little challenge (but no big deal) to get it undone.

User error maybe.

Oh come on now....Certified...Ford...AND mechanic all in the same sentence. :cwl::cwl::cwl:
That’s funny! Almost as “funny”as thinking that - and then paying big bucks for a recall ridden Maverick:) What were you thinking?

I find Ford’s certification efforts admirable. Too bad Ford’s pay structure sucks and they now face a severe shortage of trained technicians:(

So...your Chevy Chase quote was a "joke?" No, anyone with sense reading those words....
not a joke! You need to lighten up.

You "member those"....LOL...that's cause you were in the halls instead of English class!! LMAO!!

Monitors easily can mean the same as moderators.....Geez guys...you all are the ones that
need to lighted up and stop trying to pick on a word that wasn't what is "normally used".....
moderator, monitor, overseer.....whatever.

You all want to be really technical or accurate with the word "Moderator.".....????

Webster's New World Dictionary...."Moderator n. one who presides at an assembly, debate, etc
This isn't an assembly in the truest sense......debate....but, in a formal setting with people present!

Monitor has many uses and meanings. One is..."to watch or check on a person..or thing.
Or person's . That fits just fine.
Come on ….just give it up, buddy. You’re reading into it WAY too much. You do know who Chevy Chase is… and you do know what a joke is …..there’s no easier way to explain it to you. I do apologize for myself and all the others on here that may have offended you. This really is a pretty fun forum and pretty informative. You just can’t be as uptight as you are. 😎

What you said was so clearly a joke and anyone who's not a sensitive baby can clearly see that. He's an EXTREMELY sensitive individual who clearly always has to be right.
Does anyone remember last year the guy who got upset and said everyone was calling him fat because he didn't like the seats in his Maverick? Mr TrucksCarsarefun reminds of that guy. If it doesn't go exactly his way he goes on the attack.
Sinner something. He also got p.o.'d when his thread derailed into a discussion about shoes. :cwl:

Yup, that was him. No we have a Mr Sensitive 2.0 in this thread.

I do feel a little bad that his feelings have been hurt but at the same time he needs to not be so sensitive.

This is a great forum filled with people who genuinely like to help each other and most everyone can take a joke and roll with it.

“Hern Dog” was the obvious “Synner Syndrome” reincarnation. Was exposed soon after his recent first post:)

Leave “Trucks & Cars are Fun” alone:(

I wasn't saying they are the same person, I was just pointing out they share a similar trait.
And no one was bothering Mr Trucks and Cars. He got overly upset over a simple joke and then continued to get defensive for no reason.

But yes, just let bygones be bygones at this point.

Gee, so you don't think it's necessary and everyone that does is....what....stupid?? Life is full of different
people with different wants, needs and desires. You certainly aren't the one to dictate what
other's may want. Each to their own. I don't see anyone going after you because you don't
believe in it. But, we just might have something to say with your BS attitude on what is supposed
to be a friendly and helpful site where people/owners can share without being attacked for
their wants, needs....etc. I'm on the planet a lot longer....and after owning 12 Mustangs so far,
the prop rods do NOT hold the hood up very high....especially when servicing fluids, etc, etc.
I put Redline struts on all my Mustangs and was always glad I did.

My right, my want, my desire....my money, my pleasure. And I certainly didn't contact you....the
almighty one to ask if it's OK! So, drop the BS or get the hell off here.

Monitors please review this, because, I'm tired of those that like to bully and dominate
while sitting behind a key board and slinging arrows because he thinks they are more right
than anyone else in this world.
Have another drink, Ray!!!!

The corners are right at eye level.
Isn't the obvious solution to apply a lift?

That gives me something to lean on without scratching up anything. It softens the poke. 😆
Due to failed "diamond" hinge (which in turn caused the one on the other side to snap), I have the hood to a '72 Eldorado hanging over it in my old garage, where it bangs my head every month or two as I pass between it and the workbench,

Do you have any idea how much the hood on a '72 Eldorado weighs???

[I've been told it's the longest hood ever put on a cadillac!}

<---- marked safe from eye gouging and head injuries after filling washer fluid today.

I am not getting it. I am over 6ft, between quarter to one inch depending on how kinky my S shaped spine is on the day.

Have the complainants got lowered Mavs? are they standing on stools? did they never own anything shorter?
