Not at all. It's the Goldilocks-approved option! :)

I typically prefer stripped-down vehicles. Luxury doesn't interest me at all. I go for power options and functional stuff. When I started looking at Mavericks (early 2024), I compared the standard equipment. I can't remember specifically what sold me on the XLT. I'm trying to remember if you had to get the XLT to get the under-seat storage. I think you did have to get the XLT to get the one bed cubby. Anyway, I decided it was worth the XLT price to get the stuff I wanted standard. I actually prefer cloth seating to leather (and absolutely prefer it to fake leather). I live in Florida, so I don't need heated seats or steering wheel.

Anyway, it took me 8 months to get my XLT (initially delayed because I had ordered the hard tri-fold bed cover, and then delayed all summer due to shortages of wheels and/or tires). I learned during that time that XLs are bottom priority for production. I wonder if I even would've been able to get a '24 XL.

Would I have enjoyed Lariat's lighting, push-button start, powered rear slider window, and adaptive cruise over my '23 XLT Lux? Yes.
Would I pay the $4,975 for these features? No.

The two things I wanted from the 2025 Lariat were the 19" wheels and the ACC but neither of those warranted the approximately $8k difference. So no, no regrets.

No regrets here. A basic XLT with 4K tow and FX4 packages fits the bill perfectly for my needs. The only other option I wanted was pLeather steering wheel so I bought a nice used one from a Bronco Sport. I didn't want anything else from the luxury package or Lariat trim.

I bought used and it was one of three different 2022 Mavericks a XL and another XLT. The other 2 were Hybrids and this one I got was the 2.0 liter. The primary reason I went with the one I choose was I live out in the country and primary driving for me was highway driving, the fact that also wanted one with AWD.

I never used the heated seats in my prior daily driver a Chevy Equinox diesel AWD with 2LT package which had the heated seats, push button start and huge sunroof. MY only real requirement was to have AWD because I live out in the country and do drive in snow conditions briefly in the winter. Since the dealerships all knew that the hybrids were worth more than the 2.0 liter I think I did good as the price of used was $2,500 below the price of the other twos.

The only reason I did not buy a Lariat was the pleather fake leather seats.
I would not have considered it even if it was real leather.
There's something about getting into a vehicle that's been sitting in 112° and the interior is 140° to 150° You really want to avoid sitting on leather or plastic seats.
For me Leather or fake leather

The XLT with the luxury package and Co-pilot360 was a better value compared to the Lariat or XL, at least for what I was looking for.

The XL would have been nice if you could option it up more. Just not enough creature comforts for my old butt.

The push-button start on the Lariot is what I miss most. And the adaptive cruise. My wife's Mazda has both and they're just waaay too easy to get used to. But I just couldn't get past the interior in the Lariot. Had they made different colors or materials an option, I'd probably would have gone that way. But for me, the brown just didn't work.

So the XLT comes closest without being too much or not enough. No regrets.

I use all of the XLT features including back seat arm rest cup holders.
If I had found an XL, I would have started looking for a wrecked XLT to pull the back seat out of immediately.. (upholstery work is very affordable in Mexico ). That's 1 key item on the XLT... Much of the other stuff can be added (alloys, licking tailgate, cruise, cubbys, etc..)

Reposting something from the XL thread, but I honestly didn't know a zero option XLT had all this compared to an XL. Why doesn't Ford just put this on the website as a side-by-side to make it easy. Not to mention the 25' model had 2 not insignificant features added (standard hitch and keyless entry / start).

The information is there, but the internal, proprietary one pager (1/4 of the page to be exact) covers the same information much more concisely.

Not really blaming Ford, it's how every vehicle manufacturer markets their vehicles with a degree of feature obfuscation to push buyers towards the higher trim levels.

Yeah, I hate browsing via a website that keeps opening new pages as you select stuff. A brochure with tables laying everything out is much simpler.
