And shut down future EV plans for good.

Ford, and everybody else, is right behind them.

Nobody is buying these things anymore.

Toyota was one of the few manufacturers to be honest with themselves, and the public, about the future of EV’s, when they announced no plans to replace ICE/hybrids with EV’s.

An EV Maverick?
NEVER GONNA HAPPEN
What a friggin $&@&!

I suppose Tesla just shut down production too?

EV's are the hottest selling item on the West Coast. Over 40% of new cars sold this year were EV's.

Gassers only are piling up on lots.

Read what I said: Toyota has no plans to REPLACE ICE with EVs which is what Ford and GM had planned.

Big difference.
We did read what you said.......

GM just shut down EV production
Then you went on long winded rant with nothing to back it up......

So I'm just gonna pick a little at your user name and post a pic of the new EV Blazer slated to hit the market in 2024.:p

Lots of people saw this coming years ago. EV's for mainstream is a pipe dream. Maybe, maybe 10% of the populace want one. That makes it a niche product by the very definition of the word. It is really quite as simple as that. Currently EV's are living on car lots for 65 days now. That is a bad sign as things may be getting worse for EV's.

The best commuter car is the Maverick Hybrid. We all know the milage figures plus it can double as a long distance ass hauler with no range anxiety and charging station drama and outrageous charging fees. (Up here at least, most Charge America sites are pushing 50 cents a kWh.).YMMV.
Maverick hybrids are cheaper to run than that.

Besides OP, there are some good points brought up regarding EVs.

Coming from Model 3 and going back to a full ICE vehicle - I think I've got a decent perspective on it.

First - I absolutely loved my Tesla. I put 17k miles on it in just over 1 year and it was flawless over that time period. OP and those in here kicking dirt all over EVs have never driven one and won't consider them, which really renders their opinions useless.

Now - traded my Model 3 for the Maverick for a few primary reasons -

1. As others stated - I paid $52k for my M3LR and within just 5 months new one cost $43k. Over the course of 1 year, I lost all of the profit I made from selling my 2022 Bronco, and I wanted off the roller coaster before I got screwed like a lot of others did on their value.

2. Although I didn't have any repair bills in my one year of ownership - any repairs to my M3LR would have been extremely expensive and not something I could do or a third party could do. Not something I wanted to deal with

3. Currently the only EV I would buy is a Tesla due to their Supercharger network. Yes, it is getting opened up to other manufacturers but it is still is not flawless like a Tesla.

3b. Tesla does not make any vehicles that currently fit my lifestyle, and the Cybertruck won't fit that bill either.

For anyone who needs a vehicle to haul, light off road (or more) with good usable interior space - there is no EV currently and doesn't appear to be one coming.

As someone above stated - Ford would have been much better served putting out a $40-45k Maverick EV than the $75k lightning.

Ouch. What a dig.
Everyone wants to live here and our weather is good enough to even live in a tent!
If it was on the back of a Maverick you'd love it :D

also
General Motors - not General Engines. They've wanted to build EVs all along!

Tesla just stopped making cars and are shutting down production of their trucks. Daewoo is making a comback full electric cars at 16k 2 seater. Hummer is making a full electric truck 2 door long bed on heated 35s for all weather travel, with a bose sound system and extra bass booster. Underside has easy access ports for easy oil change access. Tow package of 8k lbs. AWD with disconnect button for flat towing. 25 color options and new age ceramic paint. 1/4" anti chip glass. Sharkskin strength interior material. Seen the advertisement on TicTok

I think there’s a practical market for EV’s but I think on a small portion of the US (country & citizens). If it works for them, Great, if not we should have choices that work for our needs, lifestyles, ICE, Hybrid, Hydrogen, EV, etc.

But the idea of ramming something down my throat, removing my choices, freedom, etc. They Can Kiss My Ass
