I mention the AWDs but I don’t know their specs as well, so I just “suspect” they have FS Spares
My dealer was pretty confident that AWDs don't have that full size spare by default. His argument was that in his ordering program, you could select both the spare and the AWD options without any flags, AND the fact that it specifically mentions hybrids get the full size. I asked whether that meant that the ecoboost or AWD physically lacks the space for a full size spare, but since you can opt to order one additionally, we figure that's not the case.

Tyres last longer, and you buy 5 at a time. Averages out the same or a little better because wear patterns are different than 4 tyre rotation.
Okay, you buy tires 20% less often, or is it 25%. I'm not good at math. Especially the numbers part!
But do they subsequently up the warranty 20 or 25% ?

Wear patterns are different. But better? That I doubt very much. You add a virgin tire to three worn tires the first rotation. Then each 5k you do something similar. Over 300k I think you might be flushing cash down the drain!

That just seems weird, but then weird is the new norm.

which seems strange because even at Callahan’s cross time saloon none ever comes in to shouts of Weird! Like Norm did in Cheers!

20% but I go 300k in all but 1 vehicle I have ever owned (poor cougar with the interceptor v8 lost it in a multi car collision on 75/85)

never had the warranty extended, but always paid for lifetime rotation before I got wise and bought a speed jack, impact wrench etc. the point of rotation is to rotate the tyres before significant wear occurs,

My TPMS light just came on after switching my spare. The main cars sensor for TPMS can be reset?

Like always I went to Discount when it came on and when the rep got to my car and we started it again the light was gone, always!!!

He mentioned unhooking the battery to do a hard reset. Legit?
The light is on after switching the spare because the offending wheel/tire is still in the vicinity. Unless you got mad and tossed it.

Still though, every time you get new tires or a flat fixed the light is on for a bit. No need to unhook the battery.

Interesting. The whole switch-a-roo they did removed the good back left(had a slight wear on the inside) and now that’s the spare. Brand new back tries with the old spare as one and brand new tire as the other.

love having 5 full size wheels.

but great to hear the code will go away eventually on its own. Thanks!

Does the hybrid come with the full size spare even without the CP360? Build and price lets me add the full size spare for $115 so I'm wondering if this is a bug or it's only included on the hybrid with CP360?

In the north country, always have winter tires; they are directional so you rotate only front to rear. The all season tires are only on half of the year so I only do a four tire rotation. In this situation I think a five tire rotation would possibly extend the tread life beyond the safe life of the carcass of the tires. My son bought a 1993 Mustang 5.0 coupe new, which currently has about 20k miles on it, the tires had to be replaced because they got too old just sitting most of the time. And no, he doesn’t want to sell the Mustang 😜

Unless they changed something all hybrids come with a full sized spare, contact your dealer for any changes to that

The main cars sensor for TPMS can be reset?
The TPMS computer can be put in pairing/learn mode. It can't be "reset" in the idea that all data is wiped and factory data is reloaded without a dealer-level diagnostic tool.

Like always I went to Discount when it came on and when the rep got to my car and we started it again the light was gone, always!!!
Knowing what you said, if I was the tech, I would just re-pair all four sensors anyway than have you be a "come back" if/when the light comes back on, which can be frustrating for both the store and the customer.

He mentioned unhooking the battery to do a hard reset. Legit?
Technically yes. But the TPMS sensor information doesn't get erased. Otherwise you'd have to re-pair or recalibrate the TPMS every time the battery is disconnected. The TPMS light might be off for a bit, but much like the MIL/CEL, as soon as the TPMS detects a fault, the light will come back on.

I wish more vehicles went with indirect TPMS systems. Rather than battery-powered sensors in each wheel, indirect TPMS uses the vehicle's ABS wheel speed sensors to calculate rotation speed. Since an underinflated tire has a smaller radius than a properly-inflated tire, If a tire rotates faster than approximately 3% from the baseline set value, the TPMS light comes on.

The TPMS is easily user-calibrated by either a button or a menu setting. The vehicle is driven for a couple miles to set the baseline rotation speeds, and that's it. The vehicle can use standard plastic valve stems, and switching between summer and winter tires means the TPMS still works once calibrated.

The downsides of indirect TPMS are that there is no numeric tire pressure data, and the system is slow to react to rapid depressurization. But in the case of the latter, you'd probably notice a difference in the vehicle's handling before any light illuminated.

Awesome. Thanks for your help.

I found buying a 12v impact wrench a speed jack and tire ramps to make rotation Trivial, until I broke my back. Now I need to add a crawler
Tire ramps? How do use those during a rotation?

If you're like me, and use a traditional floor jack, these pinch-weld jack pads come in handy.
