Last month my Maverick's transmission failed on a highway in NJ. I called Ford Roadside and they advised that I was on a restricted roadway and to call an emergency number to have it towed to my dealership and that I would be reimbursed. Flash forward a couple of weeks- I see that I was only covered $140 out of $418.97. I call Ford Customer Care who sends me to Ford Roadside who send me to Agero Towing who sends me to Ford Care (so on and so forth). No lie, I have about 5 logged hours on the phone with Ford and Agero about this.
Eventually I am told that the $140 happened because I was towed by someone out of network, but once they saw that it was Ford Roadside that advised it they agreed that I should be paid the difference. So I ask for a conference call with Ford and Agero and the supervisor for Agero says they would take care of it. The second Ford hops off the line he tells me he is going to send it to be investigated.
I get a call back today and they said "while Ford Roadside says you would be reimbursed, they never said you would be FULLY reimbursed." And that they interpret reimbursed as partial in this circumstance. Now Ford is acting like the gig is up, they never said that I'd be taken care of, and that they are at the mercy of Agero's determination. But Agero is a 3rd party....why on Earth would they take care of me without pressure from Ford?
So I would like to apologize to Ford, I should never have allowed my transmission to fail on a restricted roadway and will do my utmost to make sure it only fails on unrestricted roads from here on out.
