Ford: a public company is not supposed to withhold information from the public. Someone there knows the specifc reason for the hybrid delay, instead we are given some vague reference to an EPA issue. The eco was shipped not long after mpg was released but the hybrid EPS is official but it is still on hold. This makes no sense. You and your Board must know something you are not telling us. Here is a little history:

Autoblog article Sept 8, 2021
"Ford denied reports the hybrid version of the 2022 Maverick pickup had been delayed due to the on-going chip shortage. It told Autoblog the fuel-sipping trucklet will be available at launch but just not in dealer inventories. "Maverick Hybrid will be available at launch," a company spokesperson confirmed via email. " (This statement should have been retracted because only the ecoboost was avaliable at launch)

On MTC by Tim Bartz of Ford dealer Long McArthur Oct 7, 2021
"There have been some dealers telling their customers that hybrid vehicles are delayed and won't be available for 6-8 months. Some saying there are thermal issues. I want everyone to know they are NOT correct." (Sounds like a true salesman.)

Ford Authority October 22, 2021
"The Maverick hybrid will begin shipping in December with the first deliveries expected in January, although deliveries of models powered by Ford’s 2.0L EcoBoost I-4 have already begun. This is undoubtedly disappointing news for those looking to purchase a Maverick hybrid..."

My June 17 hybrid lux 360 alto order finally got scheduled Dec 4 but then got pushed out to Dec 20. For all we know Ford may say sorry, January deliveries are now March. Ford needs to be honest and just tell us. If its a chip problem fine. if its a hybrid engine problem their engineers have to fix, not so fine. We need to know.

On YouTube I have been asking autorized dealers like Long McArthur and Town & Country but they are being elusive. They have to know something because if I owned a dealership, I would be in direct contact with Ford CEO Jim Farley and demand to know why I can't book six figures in hybrid revenue on already built hybrids while being expected to continue to pay monthly overhead and payroll. Mr. Bartz, if you are being told to keep quiet that is not right.

The Oct 21, 2021 letter I received from Ford that gives the FITS accessories for free never apologizes or explains the delay. It says "Your new 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid pickup will be on its way in a few short months..." That can be next summer to all of you hybrid order holders!

I asked Johnny who says in his videos he wants to report accurate information, but then he told me he is speculating about the delay. He makes money on our clicks but him speculating just wastes out time. Does anyone know more about the hybrid delay other than a guess or speculation?

its been discussed ad nauseum. The prevailing, semi confirmed theory is that OKTB was delayed by the EPA numbers/testing. It seems like this caught Ford by surprise. They sent out the Fitts "gifts" emails as their token way of saying sorry for the delay.

Get over it? You aren’t going to find more information here. We’re waiting on EPA data, ETA Decemberish. Go find a hobby I guess. Sorry to be harsh but it is what it is. We’re all waiting and Ford isn’t saying more and I don’t know if any other car company would be any different. I’m sure their legal and communications teams are careful to use certain words like “not delayed” in a specific context, where indeed production was not delayed, but delivery/sale is being restricted by a power outside of their control (EPA). Everything else you quoted is straightforward and I don’t really see the point of knowing more specifics about what the EPA is testing beyond just satisfying our curiosity. Nothing would change by knowing more specifics about the testing protocol right?

Why are you so convinced the EPA testing contingency is not true, and that there is some engineering issue or chip shortage issue? Ford sources have said neither of these things are true.

Like you, all I've seen is rampant & unsubstantiated speculation and misinformation. While Ford isn't required to provide answers, I do find it frustrating and puzzling. Suppressing the BS and noise would seem to be in Ford's best interest. Pretty terrible communications.

Now, be prepared to be savaged and lectured by those on this forum who feel that their "explanation of choice" is correct...

Ford is a private company that is publicly traded. They can do whatever the hell they want. If you haven't had the ability to use your eyes and/or brain to see the incredible amount of material shortages globally, let alone the EPA problem, then you probably shouldn't have the ability to operate a vehicle.

YouTube is a vast place, not everyone can see your answers. You know what the best thing to do is if you need info? Call your dealer. Instead of acting like an entitled primadonna, shut up and be patient. No one owes you anything, least of all a corporate entity explaining everything that is happening behind closed doors to someone who buys one of their vehicles. You wouldn't demand to know everything you wanted of your local farmer, its no different from ford.

Some of you folks need to take a step back and breathe, maybe read a book to help boost some other important numbers. 🙄

Continued delay??? There has been one delay... Supposed to be released fall 2021, Ford now came out and said January 2022 (and to clarify because it needs to be said, not everyone's hybrid will arrive in January. They will start to arrive then). So that is one delay... If hybrids don't get delivered in January, then that's a second delay.

Everyone has a right to be frustrated over the lack of communication but there is no reason to be blowing this out of proportion given everything that is going on logistically in the word right now...

James if you already have an opinion then what are you expecting to get from here. You will find a few that will agree and some that won’t, do you feel better now that you have tried to stir the pot?

Haha what are you talking about? As a publicly traded company, Ford owes the SEC and it's shareholders certain disclosures, but I don't think that includes the status of your hybrid order.

Also I don't think anyone from the Ford C suite or board is trawling these forums...

I'm not sure why you address this to Ford Execs but post it to a forum for enthusiasts of the product. I'll help you out and provide Ford's contact page so you can send it directly to them -
Contact Us | Ford® Customer Service, Help & Live Chat | Ford.com

Also, do you really believe that you would be in direct contact with the CEO of Ford if you owned a dealership? If you really do then I'll offer to sell you some oceanfront property in Kentucky. Let me know how many acres you want.

so cancel your order already - THAT'll teach 'em! Make your displeasure known with your wallet instead of crying to the interwebs where nobody really gives a :poop:

First and foremost, your level of of speculation is by far the worst I’ve seen.

You want Ford to be honest and tell you exactly what is going on but you already have determined that if it is an engine issue that it is not ok? Why would they tell you so you cancel your order and blow it out of the water.

Step back off the rails my friend. You’re build date is December 20th and the last day of Fall is December 21st. Sounds like they are barely late to the party.

I have not seen an official reason for the delay. If it's chips they should just say so. I am patient but wondering. Doesn't anyone else want to know?

50% of me wants to know and 50% could care less. I want my truck built, but built with the highest standards, not rushed because people are wondering why there is a delay in a supply shortage and chip shortage and employee shortage etc.
