Why did you choose the hybrid?

Yup, 6 days from today will mark 14 months since I ordered. I finally got scheduled for the second time a few weeks ago for the week of Jan 30th and found out from Ford chat a couple days ago that I have been assigned a build day of Jan 31st. I'm hopeful that means that it is less likely that it will get pushed back.

If it takes the typical 4 weeks to ship then I should have it end of February, beginning of March, approximately 16 months or 490ish days later...
Mine shipped very quickly after the build date so you might get it sooner than later!

This is my first hybrid. And as someone said, I would not have bought it if it weren't a hybrid.
I needed a vehicle and have decided that whatever I get, is going to be hybrid because gas prices is just going to keep going up. The 12 years I drove my previous vehicle, I spent roughly $50k in gas.
I was looking at the CRV and RAV4. Then I discovered the Maverick. It was a no brainer. It's perfect for me, for what I need it for my job and for a family of 4 and a 15 lb dog. The Maverick has some big shoes to fill but so far, it's doing a very good job.

I love cars and trucks...but real life gets in the way. So to get ready for the change I decided to go half way and get a hybrid. I have had mine since May filled it up 4 times this year! Saving money is more fun than fretting about climate change!

I liked the size and utility of the Maverick. Previous experience with Ford/Mazda MZR engines, of which the 2.5L shares lineage, have been extremely reliable for me. I typically keep my vehicles a while, so I'm somewhat adverse to turbos, plus getting a hybrid also allowed me to dip my toes into the EV arena a bit without going all in.

I have enjoyed it for ~17,500 miles over 9 months but this past week has me longing for an Ecoboost.

This is why. I can't wait to see how much less fuel I use. This is day 2 with mine. This drive was from Warsaw, IN to Huntertown, IN. Highest speed limit in the drive is 65 mph, but most stretches of the route are 50 or 55 mph limits. Gently rolling terrain. All the downhill coasts are where the 10.7 electric came from. I drive speed limit +2-3 mph.

Would you all still opt for the hybrid if it was the same price as the ecoboost?
EB was never seriously considered. Unless you need the towing or off road features, it's a just another gas guzzler. If I got a gas only vehicle, I would have bought a Toyota over a Ford.

please can i tell you why not to get a hybrid??
Sure - go for it! (Good luck convincing anyone who wants a hybrid that they should get an EcoBoost instead…)

I have an order placed for a Hybrid… But whatever my reasons, might not matter due to all the other orders submitted also.

Sure, great gas mileage, smooth ride, all sounds nice, but for half of us that ordered this year, we’ll never see the vehicle.

Vicariously I live a Maverick lifestyle via this chat site.

For me it wasn't hybrid vs eco boost. It was Maverick hybrid vs my 2021 Nissan Frontier. King cab 4x4 S model. I would not have sold the Frontier and bough an eco boost, im not big on turbos. The Nissan was low tech, it was the last of the second gen but with the 3rd gen power train, and that 3.8 makes an amazing naturally aspirated 310 horsepower and had a 9 speed transmission body on frame, with almost 7000 pound towing. and I was getting 20 mpg. The reality is I own a dinky trailer and the only thing I haul around other than odds and ends is a motorcycle, and I can do that with the hybrid. plus im getting twice the mileage and the price was the same. In my business I mostly do laps around town. When I bough the Nissan I had looked at the Honda Ridgeline and really liked it but the cheapest one was $40k and its a unibody that only tows about 4000 pounds and normally get less than 20 mpg. Th Maverick is half the money, twice the mileage, half the towing and no AWD. It's a compromise but at 3800 miles Im happy enough with it. I sold my Nissan for $2000 more than I paid for and I drove it for 18 months and put 19000 miles on it, all while waiting for my Maverick.

I’ve never owned or driven a hybrid vehicle before. So I’m looking for input from current owners.

Why did you opt for the hybrid over the ecoboost powertrain?

What benefits other than fuel savings does a hybrid offer?
Always wanted a hybrid, but wasn't willing to pay extra $$$$ for one. Along comes the Maverick, perfect for me, 4 door rear seated pickup box, & is a hybrid to boot. All at an affordable price. I've watched hybrid technology & find it a great solution. No charging, oil changes at 10k intervals, and when I need to go long distances no battery anxiety.
