Flat Towing - best base plate for the Maverick?

Just purchased a 2022 Hybrid Maverick to pull behind my Motorhome. Just looking for advice for the best base plate for the Maverick,
Blue Ox or Roadmaster, or another option?

I've always used/iinstalled Roadmaster baseplates...C-Max (2), Rangers(2), S-10, MDX, CR-V....but I see that Roadmaster makes you modify the active shutter system while Blue Ox does not. Once my 22 23 Maverick arrives, I will study more, but I think I may be wanting to put on the Blue Ox. Not sure how easy my Falcon 2 or Stowmaster will adapt to a Blue Ox. Might need yet another towbar.

I chose Roadmaster. Works well, BlueOX may require drilling large holes in the front facia

Thanks, looks like Roadmaster requires less cutting of the facia? Can I ask how much it cost for the install and who did you get to do it?

I'm in Michigan, local shop with tow bar experience.
NO cutting!! The air flow louvers down low were removed.
the install included all wiring/diodes back to taillights and prep for the roadmaster braking system
I think It was around $1000. I also had them run a wire to charge the battery.

Papa, I’m in MI too (west side of the state) and plan to have the Roadmaster installed when my Mav arrives in a few weeks. What’s the name and locale of the shop you used? Thanks!

I have traveled about 3k miles. No real issues to be concerned with.

We're going to go with the Roadmaster but I have a question about the battery and is there anything special that has to be put on to keep the battery from draining?

I was concerned also about the battery on long hauls. I had them pass a wire thru from pin connector to battery post in engine compartment.

I use a "Toad-Charge" from LSL on my C-Max and will move it to my Maverick when it gets here (being built right now!)

Shouldn’t need a battery wire as the ignition is turned to off when towing. Unlike my CRV which you leave the ignition on to keep the steering unlocked.

Check with your Ford dealer on warranty issues. Mine told me the active shutter system was part of the cooling system and could invalidate factory warranty on any cooling system related failures. Was planning on going with Roadmaster until I saw they completely remove the active shutter system. So you cut and remove no matter what system you go with.
