Hello fellow Maverick owners. I am the new owner of a 2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid Lariat FWD.
I bought it so I am tow it behind my Class C Motorhome.
I have searched and studied what I need to purchase and the general consensus is the Demco Base Plate
I would love to get everyones opinion on this as well.
I want a base plate that functions correctly and one that takes little or no trimming.
Thank you so much.
If Demco is the answer, could someone please give me the model number
Thanks so much

From my past experience flat towing for the Maverick IMO the RoadMaster Baseplate and TowBar is the best option, very clean installation, strong and well designed and least destructive - I have others brands installed on my other vehicles but definitely recommend you look at the RoadMaster set up for the Maverick

I installed the Roadmaster base plate on my 2023 XLT Hybrid and am using a Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain tow bar.. That baseplate required some significant trimming and removal of the lower active air vanes. I believe the Demco base plate requires less trimming and leaves the active air system intact. Go take a look at etrailer.com, they have several base plate choices and have detailed installation instructions and videos for each one. I have heard the BlueOx base plate is least desirable due to the wider mounting points which effectively shortens the towbar which can cause binding or contact with the towing vehicle in sharp turns.

Looks great however with the 2025 refresh and the relocation of the ACC Radar everything changed so they all started from square one and have similar but different approaches it was easy for me to immediately disqualify BlueOx for my 2025 with its wide stance so I focused on RoadMaster and Demco for me RoadMaster nailed this one
when I purchased my 2025 Lariat AWD Hybrid there were no options for any baseplates and I contacted both manufacturers and communicated with both through their engineering process after over 6,000 miles flat towing with this Maverick using the RoadMaster baseplate and RoadMaster NightHawk towbar Im happy with the installation and how it performs

What option did you go with for lights on the Maverick when towing?
I would rather not have to tie in to the factory wiring and am thinking about using magnetic lights that work on Bluetooth.

I plug Into the RV and all the lights work perfectly everything syncs with the RV (running lights, brake lights, turn signals, etc) I purchased the kit when I purchased the RoadMaster baseplate and RoadMaster NightHawk TowBar no issues after flat towing this Maverick over 6,000 miles in 2025

Thanks so much for the info.
I will plan to purchase all the same parts for our 2025 hybrid so we can flat tow starting this spring.
Did you do the install yourself or have a shop do it?
Where do you purchase the equipment etrailer?

I purchased directly from RoadMaster which I highly recommend they have amazing customer and product support something that third party retailers canā€˜t match IMO companies like e-trailer talk a good game but rarely can deliver.

i had a small local family owned business do the install and could not be happier with their work and attention to detail I’m very fortunate to have these guys near by. It took about four hours.

I installed a Roadmaster base plate on my 2024 Lariat and couldn't be happier. Have towed approximately 2000 miles behind me class C without any problems.
