If its smaller, then why is it being positioned as a midsize?
Because some other companies are offering a true compact EV pickup. The Maverick would qualify as mid-sized by most comparisons, but everything has gotten so super-sized in the USA.

No, its a MIDSIZE, and not competition, the same way a Ranger or an F150 are not competition.
Yet Ranger and F-150 are constantly mentioned in this forum. Many members have either dumped one of those for a Maverick, or dumped a Maverick for one of those.

What competitive vehicles will you allow to be discussed?

I'm ignoring any reports on size until somebody grabs a tape measure. Ask any courtroom lawyer - human testimony is the least reliable part of a trial. Same for some guy standing on a curb measuring the length of a truck.

Agree. And “midsize” is an arbitrary classification. I’m guessing it will be officially designated a “Class 1” truck:)

I want to point out for everyone not aware that the "unicasting" process that they are touting is basically mirroring Tesla's manufacturing process.

That being said, I've been critical/skeptical so far - I will still place my order when it does hit. My Maverick is paid for and the combo of the Mav plus Ranchero looks pretty good to me!
I believe unicasting is a better term than gigacasting. Yes, I am not a fan of anything Tesla. They are like being inside a washing machine with a tablet.
