I'm not sure if I can take a Chinese-made pickup seriously, but on the other hand if this company Geely who is apparently now the parent company of Volvo is for real, this little EV pickup could possibly be a Maverick Challenger. What do you think?

And here's some video
With the 25% chicken tax and the ability to pass the NHTSB which might be questionable, Other than that it looks to be a winner 🏆

So not buying a fuel-guzzling truck with way more power and capability than I need to make grocery runs and cross-town trip makes me a "virtue signaler?" I think I prefer the label "frugal and environmently-concious suburbanite" thanks. 😄 ✌
Your not really saving the environment with one of those unless your electricity to recharge it comes exclusively from solar, wind, geothermal, or hydroelectric. And even then with it coming from China, they lack any sort of type of oversight like our EPA, so the pollution footprint just to make that thing is likely to be massive. Spare parts to repair it should you have a fender bender will be nonexistent as well. Plus the afore mentioned of bankrolling a communist country. This is the big picture. Hard pass.

I hope that comment wasn't serious. Are you that paranoid? What makes you think you are -that- important that the "enemy" wants to track you? You're not nearly as interesting as you believe.
You do realize that the government is looking at shutting down tiktok because of the fact that its chinese, and anything like that they have to give the CCP access to it. So yes they are essentially getting unfettered access to us. Apparently the CCP finds people in the USA on tiktok to be interesting. Checkmate.

As fuel prices increase, the economics of shipping complete vehicles from China to USA only become more & of a fantasy for breaking even.
EVs are a great mix of heavy and large volume.

Japanese & Korean cultures have a lot of emphasis on building their brand over
the long term, not taking short-cuts.

Mainland Chinese culture has been permanently destroyed by the Cultural Revolution famine era, where even storing food because of severe endemic shortages would get you imprisoned. It embedded the culture of "if you see an opportunity for a quick buck, just take it you may be dead tomorrow".

This is why there is such a stark quality contrast between products manufactured in China by Western-based corporations, & the same products made by the same factories, for a Chinese buyer.

Chinese culture prizes & glorifies finding ways to conceal defects in a batch of product so they can be sold to unwitting customers for a quick extra buck, vs ever considering scrapping defective product that would hurt their branding reputation over the long term, but cost them the quick buck they could make if they can find ways to conceal the defects in defective products, long enough to make a quick buck.

This has reached epidemic levels in China to where they have a name for it "Tofu Dreg Construction" so what discount would you need to incinerate your family in an exploding Chinese EV, amazing vehicle until crash, we save cash on battery armor cladding & also save weight you go faster for cheaper

- best news you will never have to deal with making loan payments on crashed China EV, because China EV provides free cremation service for whole family

There was a time when we scoffed at anything that was labeled "Made in Japan." Then companies like Honda, Sony, Canon, and others gave us products that were superior to many American makes. We didn't take products made in Korea seriously either, and then Kia, Hyundai, and probably the Samsung or other phone you're reading this on was made there. I think it would be a mistake to not take Chinese products seriously. Ford better pay attention to this one.
