I used to work as a dealer transfer driver at the dealership a couple of years ago, so maybe they are still giving me staff pricing. We will see when our Maverick finally arrives hopefully some time in the spring. Thanks for letting me know I was quoted a smoking deal.:D

So, has anyone been able to state definitively if this helps with injector / top end noise, or if it's purely cosmetic?

If the cover had some type of foam or sound deadening under it there probably would be a difference, but I doubt it would be too noticeable given all the other sounds on the road in daily driving.

Ford stripped them out of the focus and edge late in their runs, word was cost cutting being the reason. I have researched a number of options and from I can see Weatherman has it right, the covers on all the 2.0l eco's appear to be the same.

I plan to hit some local salvage yards tomorrow afternoon and see what I can find.

Makes keeping the engine bay clean easier, and keeps water away from your plugs/coils.

On the downside, possibly, rumors abound that these covers are made from some of that soy plastic crop and rodents might enjoy eating it.....

Thanks for the post OP, looks good!
Bill
If you are still looking in salvage yards, don't forgot to pull the studs.:)

Thought y’all might like seeing the engine bay cleaned up a little. I bought the cover available for the Escape 2.0.

Fits great. You will want to buy the additional studs to secure it with but all in it was only about $75.

Does the install just require two additional studs with the ball on top?

Injectors are not the noise your hearing.
That’s is the direct injection fuel pump

Yep. Direct injection engines use a high pressure fuel pump that sits on top of the engine.

Hey guys, created this account just to post on this thread. Figured I'd give some info on this topic as I am trying to figure it out along the way. This mod seems like it should be simple, but I've found myself on a bit of a parts hunt.

I am having some issues finding the correct Engine Valve Cover Grommets. Since I couldn't really find a clear answer in the thread, I figured I would just order X2 of each of the studs (P# 8E5Z00812A and P# AG9Z00812D) with the intention of returning whatever I don't need/use. What they sent me for P# AG9Z00812D does not match the drawing that was on the site. I called my dealership and spoke with the parts counter and had him look up the part. He emailed me a picture of the same part that I received, so this is what will come if you order it. The parts counter guy said he is going to look research a bit on his end and see what he can find as well. However, there are pictures in the thread DO that show the correct "ball" style stud mounted in the back. Maybe the actual "ball" stud is actually a just a rubberized cover and a completely different part, and the part referenced is actually just for the bolt? I'm not sure and it seems like I may be going to the junkyard at some point just to pull off what I need.

Please let me know your thoughts or if you have some insight for this. I'm not really a mechanic, so there might be some obvious things that I am missing or am unaware of.

My plan is to eventually make a detailed install with pics and instructions when I get everything worked out.

Also - The engine cover P# K2GZ6A949A is NOT hard plastic, its a semi-soft foam material (I believe this has been stated in the thread before), so just a heads up.

From what I have gathered looking hither and yon, it seems that there is one fastener (passenger side, closest to firewall) that uses a fastener rather than a push-on ball/rubber grommet. That would be the fastener shown in your above image. I think you will need an 8mm nut to hold the cover.
Let us know what your parts person comes up with.

So I was thinking about it this morning and I decided to do the legwork and go straight to the source. Gonna head up to the dealership (hopefully today) which is not so far from me and see if I can get a look at an escape that has the cover set up and see what it looks like. There may be pics people have posted that shows this somewhere but I can’t seem to find any of these specific areas. I’ll take pics and post any info I find.

Holy COW! Thank you Weatherman for your patience...some kind of award is appropriate.

If any one wants the answers to this threat, they are repeated in this thread several times, for both ECO and Hybrid.

For those popoing the engine cover, it's certainly optional, but an acquaintance has already done this to his Eco and says there is a noticeable reduction in engine noise...

Im not sure if this has been mentioned but on a different post someone mentioned the engine cover for the Bronco Sport was a perfect fit.

Now if we can get one for the hybrid. You think Ford would thought of this...cost cutting bs.
