We have put 9.000 kms on our truck so far. By the seat of my pants I feel the new engine has more power than the old one and with still breaking in the engine the fuel economy is 10% better than our old 2022 1st edition. Both trucks are spec'd the same as far as i know. Only difference is the tires.
I just traded in my 2022 Rapid Red 1st edition ecoboost with 80,000 km with no problems.
Bought a 2025 Ruby Red Lariat Black edition with the totally new 2.0 ecoboost engine.
Ethanol gas is poison for forced induction engines in my experience. I always look for non ethanol gas to fill up with. I generally keep my vehicles a long time.
We got our Rapid Red FE yesterday. The two Lariats we ordered in July last year have not even been serialized yet. Our dealer gave us 1st dibs on this FE and we jumped on it. So far we love this truck. FORD did cheap out on a few things considering this vehicle is loaded.
A lot of flippers are buying up any new vehicles and selling them as used to dealers that can't get stock to put on their lots. For a tidy profit of course.
In my experience all forced induction engines will run better (performance) with higher octane rating. This is especially true during hot weather. I try to avoid ethanol when ever I can.
All newer vehicles hybrid or not are loaded with electronics that are working even when the vehicle is turned off. This is why we only get 3 to 4 years from a battery. My experience with Ford and BMW vehicles has been that from time to time I am getting some sort of battery/power messages.
