E shifter vs dial shifter

Not at all. I will live with the dial and I don't have any interest in hacking up interior plastic to change it, at least for a decade. But it doesn't work that well and is distracting to the driver. But I got what I got with the cheapest truck in America.

I did have one thought why y'all love it so much. Are you right handed? I am not, my right hand is mostly used for simple tasks that require more strength than precision. Pushing or pulling a lever Is just a simpler task than fine tuning a dial with no fixed position.

I would immediately buy a Maverick if it had an E shifter instead of the dial shifter which I consider cumbersome; especially to older drivers. What say you?

I’ve grown to like it. As others have said, it does not require you to look at it, particularly for park and drive. Spin right, it’s in drive. Left for park. Easy to find reverse by clicks from where you are. I almost never reach for the shift level anymore.

Middle console area. Doesn't intrude on arm movement, cup placement or hand holding.

Our Palisade has the push buttons and I must say I greatly prefer the dial. Oftentimes, I'm not exactly sure which button I pushed and if it entirely engaged. Shifter has more feedback vibe. Of course, we're talking personal preference here, and I'm not so much criticizing your preference as to give another perspective on dial vs button.

I drove the MKZ 75,000 miles so the push buttons are the devil I know. I don't hate the dial, just not used to it yet. I've managed to put it in park instead of reverse a couple times, a bit embarrassing to rev the engine instead of backing up in a busy parking lot.....

I admit that my initial reaction was that the dial felt a little weird at first but I actually like it. The stick type shifter actually takes up space that the dial doesn’t. I like the dial.

My 1962 Plymouth Fury also had pushbuttons in almost the same spot on the dash.
