Iāve grown to like it. As others have said, it does not require you to look at it, particularly for park and drive. Spin right, itās in drive. Left for park. Easy to find reverse by clicks from where you are. I almost never reach for the shift level anymore.
Didnāt mean to suggest a turbo should be added to the Atkinson engine, but that it could be a simpler way to reduce compression effort in Otto engines.
I be been thinking that the Atkinson effect of reducing compression effort when full charge is not needed could be (and maybe is) accomplished with a turbocharger. If the turbo is necessary for full power, then reduced or no pressure from it when lower compression is needed would accomplish...
Additionally, the dead battery is siphoning off the power youāre trying to use to start the dead vehicle. If you let it charge youāre much more likely to succeed.
And be patient when you boost/jump start. The cables and clamps arenāt designed to start a dead battery vehicle, theyāre designed to quickly charge the dead battery. Hook up and run the engine for 15 minutes. Then both batteries together will start the dead vehicle.
