I have a 2025 Maverick XL and I've been locked out twice. I was so glad I had my phone to unlock the doors, but I don't think I accidentally locked the door while getting out although I could have. What I did do is purchase the Keypad so if this happens again (for whatever reason) I can get back into the truck.

I have the same problem with random locking and when I’m working in the garage it is constantly locking and unlocking. I have a 2024 Maverick Lariat Hybrid.

Doesn't seem like the "same" problem if it is electronically actuating. That sounds more like an electrical short somewhere, or a keyfob in the pocket of pants that are too tight.

Shawn,
What you hear are the relays clicking. Not the truck locking and unlocking.
Here are some posts from September 2033 about the clicking.
One of the guys that was also camping asked me why the truck was ticking in the middle of the night.
Such a mystery. I've noticed mine doing weird clicking in the garage or parking lot too...

Seems like we need a new forum user intake that explains this, along with providing links to the PDF owners manual. Not that I mind enjoying this conversation every few days, but it might really help people.

I have also had my door “lock itself” but I’ve read enough to know not to make any such claim until I have video evidence. 😂

I’ve also had the alarm go off “mysteriously” on several occasions, which this forum helped me discover is due to the oddly sensitive panic button on the key fob (which I will probably disassemble and disable).

I’ve just gotten in the habit of pushing the unlock button before closing the door when I leave my key in the truck while getting my coffee at Drunks. Just once a day. No biggie.

I've been locked out once, and that debacle made me convert to the keypad for life, or at least having a backup key hidden somewhere. I have no doubt many of the lockouts are bumping the lock button, but at least some are not. It's pretty nice being able to lock the car with it running for quick errands too with the keypad.

Well, this happens on my '25 Lariat, and I can tell you with 100% confidence that I am NOT accidentally locking the door when I get out. How can I be so sure? It happens when the truck is in the garage, so I have to walk very close - sometimes in contact with the side if the truck - as I approach the driver's door from the rear of the truck. The fob is in my pants pocket. If my wife opens the passenger door when I am still by the rear driver's side door, I can HEAR the driver's door lock. That's not me accidentally locking it, it's the damn thing locking itself.

Nope...both you and Zen above are 100% incorrect. When he said above..."Some are not"...NOPE...they are ALL you hitting the "lever" with your left hand. Guaranteed. Also...I've never needed the keypad because I just walk around to the passenger door and hit the unlock "button" with the unlock symbol and walk back around the truck. This truck is not....has not...and will not EVER "Lock itself". I know it's a hard pill to swallow...trust me......just make sure the water is not too cold when you do. 🤗🤗🤗

Explain to me why I hear the door lock at that point. And why it's NEVER happened when I am alone - only when my wife opens the passenger door first. Go ahead. Explain it.

The picture in your post #2 finally made it clear to me how I locked myself out. I knew I was my “fault” - but I did not know what I did “wrong”. Thought I touched a button inappropriately…

I am not connected to Ford or their App - but isn’t it possible for an individual to lock their Maverick remotely? One of the few things I would find useful.

Can an evil doer hack the Ford App to lock you out of your Maverick? By “evil doer” I mean the Ford Service Department? :)

I sure wish someone would record and post this Autolock phenomenon happening to them. 🤷🏻‍♂️
