I did thank you for suggesting an alternative reason for the locking door - which proved to be the true reason. The ones I "argued" with were those who were so insistent that they knew better than I did when it came to what I was experiencing, and that sooner or later I would have to admit that...
Unless you're a Ford engineer, I have not been asking for your guess as to the logic. I have edited comment #31 in order to alleviate any reader's consternation over trying to provide the logic.
OK, and here's my video. No seat belt warning/reminder/whatever. All this proves is that your '23 XLT hybrid demonstrates different behavior under these conditions than my '25 Lariat does. Satisfied?
I don't need or expect that at all. In post #31 I said "I'd LOVE to hear how a Ford engineer tries to make any sense whatsoever out of this." That doesn't mean that I think there are any Ford engineers on this forum (or at least on this thread). Am I not allowed to express that sentiment (that...
<huge sigh> I cannot believe I am stooping to responding to his, but please go back and quote every one of my posts where I said that anybody was wrong or that I was "unwilling to buckle the rears." There's a significant difference between what I've clearly said - which has been to consistently...
I drive a '25 Lariat. With the rear seat belts (and my own) buckled, it does not come on. Not for 60 seconds; not for one second. That's what doesn't make any logical sense.
My questioning of the logic is not answered by semantics. Warning, reminder, whatever you choose to call it.
When I buckle all 3 rear seat buckles (and my own, as always) before pressing the brake and pushing the start button, NO seat belt warning OR reminder pops up. Doesn't matter what you...
NOTE: I AM EDITING THIS COMMENT IN ORDER TO TRY TO HELP THOSE OF YOU WHO GET HUNG UP TRYING TO ANSWER THE LOGIC QUESTION.
I'd LOVE to hear how a Ford engineer tries to make any sense whatsoever out of this.
That does not mean I need, want, or expect anybody here to respond with their attempt...
I think the logic fault behind your statement is in the fact that the seat belt screen that pops up does NOT show any warnings for the back seat. It just shows the green check mark for the driver's seat.
I only quoted half of your original quote because I did not disagree with the first half. And no, the rear seat belts are not buckled because the seats are empty.
Not necessarily true.
For decades, I've habitually buckled up before starting my car, but when I buckle up before pressing the brake and pushing the start button in my '25 Lariat, that annoying reminder shows up and does not go off until I press the "OK" button. Not only is that at least as...
See my immediately previous response (MavStangVa solved the mystery). I do have to give you some credit. She was NOT hitting the door lock, but if I had been over on the passenger side watching her open her door as you suggested, I may have noticed the placement of her hand over the auto-lock...
THAT'S IT! Hallelujah! And thank you for your analytical skills.
I was able to replicate it by myself, even with the fob in my pocket, by deliberately squeezing the exterior passenger door handle just behind the opening (where your fingers normally go) as I grabbed it.
Then I had my wife...
I realize that following threads here is more difficult than doing so on other forums or on Facebook, but I did already respond to the clicking suggestion previously. I am very familiar with the various unprompted clicking noises, most of which seem to come from under the hood or maybe along the...
Even if my wife WANTED to hit the lock button on her door, it happens before the door would be open far enough for her to reach in and manually activate the door locks. It happens after she begins to open her door, but almost immediately.
Calm down. You are talking about things I did NOT say - I did not say that I am "locked out". When my wife opens her door, we both hear the driver's door lock. Then, when I activate the proximity sensor by placing my fingers inside the exterior door handle, we both hear it unlock. Sometimes that...
