Manitoba girls all walk around in heavy winter coats! BC is where the sun and bikinis are. 😉
Especially when floating down the lazy river in the Okanagan Valley on an inner tube.

I was born in Abbotsford actually, so I can feel at home in many places!

That's true for the push button start equipped vehicles.
Keyed ignition fobs only send a signal when a button is pressed.
Correct - why I wanted to make sure his was seen as different than yours.

I traded in my 2007 Lincoln MKZ when I got my '25 Maverick. It had a very similar design for the interior door handle and lock (see picture). Pretty sure the Fusion and Milan were the same. Ford sold millions of these cars, they were some of the most popular and reliable models ever made. They also were produced at Hermosillo, Mexico, the same plant as the Maverick.

Although, I had my MKZ for 18 yrs, and two of these door handles did break so I needed to replace them. They were chrome plated plastic. I wondered if living in Arizona contributed to making them brittle. I was able to buy aftermarket zinc die cast replacement parts.

Funny thought: There may be a Fusion/MKZ/Milan Owners Site out there containing many of these same discussions!

Myself, I always keep the Maverick key fob in my pocket. So I just push the lock button when I get out. If I ever accidentally locked the door by pushing in the lever, I never knew it, and it never caused a problem since I just walk up to the door and it quickly unlocks (usually), although there are occasionally times when it does not unlock and I have to dig the fob out of my pocket and push the button. Not sure what causes this, but that's another thread...

Good day

I think the only way that Ford will ever be able to start to sort out the "driver door locking by itself" complaint is to send a message out to every dealership.

The message would push them to instruct all vehicle sales to require the new buyer be informed AND shown that the trucks have a manual locking lever, where it is and how it works.

I can't believe I had to put this into words and put it here as a possible preventive measure (yes, that is a Flight Safety Preventive Measure right there!).

Wouldn't matter, owners would still fight them on it. I'm willing to bet owners have fought them even after reading the service bulletin.

You really think they're going to listen to directives from Salesperson? Telling them not to lock themselves out of the truck.🤭🤭🤣🤣🤣 Don't forget to add. That there could be three other doors that are still unlocked.🙄🙄
Don't eat yellow snow, don't run with scissors, turn on your wipers when it's raining.
I say put it in the manual. Starting it this way. Don't be a dumbass and lock yourself out of the truck
That way it's there.
There wouldn't be one complaint. We know how well everybody reads the manual.
Let Darwinism figure out the rest. 🤣🤣

We know how well everybody reads the manual. 🤣
Maybe it would speed the learning curve here when we try to assist them, if they know:

1st, that there is a manual lock lever,
2nd, its location!

Only a thought/wish of course.

Has anyone ever counted up the "mystery of the driver door locking itself" threads?

Maybe a $100,000 prize could be offered for verifiable proof of it actually happening.
It would be an attention getter on the banner page and would never be collected.

Perhaps that would be more effective than an owners manual or salesman's advisory...

I know, I hear you.

Reading the revived older posts is interesting...but it sure is hard when lending your assistance, answering the same questions etc, dealing with defensive people who don't get it, for as long as you have been doing it....others may step in as current assistors step back...and take a break. As has happened in the past here.

That is why I have taken the screenshots I have, to try to get the message across as quickly as possible!

Not as comprehensive as your collection you put together, of course.

Wow, I bet that would be a huge number!

Gives MTC a lot of traffic, I am sure!

Being comprehensive is a double-edged sword. Good information but,
few people read overly worded posts.
Me included.
Instead of a lot of words.
I try to use pictures and short videos to explain, illustrate and hold attention.

I think (know) I write too much, same reason...People don't want comprehensive answers, they want instant satisfaction or even support in their personal time of...struggle. misery loves company, I guess.

As my wonderful wife has been saying to me for a very long time already (as I am a confirmed, long-time windmill-tilter), I can't fix everything everytime.

And then sometimes we even get attacked in these threads...you know what I mean...when we are trying to help.

Ah, well. Time to check and see if anyone else needs help in something I am familiar with... ;-)

I asked ChatGPT if my Maverick could lock its doors automatically like I told it it could, and it told me that yes, the Maverick can lock its doors automatically and that I'm very handsome. And then it said that Ford should appreciate me more.
