The dealership blames my DS door on my hand hitting the manual lock. 3 trips and " I " was the issue until it locked on the service manager while he tried it. If sprayed with silicone it works fine for a few months. High heat or cold temperatures and it happens regularly.
Ford won't admit that it happens much like the gremlins in my electronics but once it's video taped it hard to say it the operator's fault.
If ONLY the driver door locks that is the ONLY reason it would be locked. I too have a 2024. And I have NEVER had the driver door automatically lock itself. I have hit the manual lock accidentally or the power lock, which locks ALL doors. Here is how I stopped it from happening. I pull the lever to unlatch the door. I push the door open with the same door handle I use to pull it shut. I do not push the door open with the palm of my hand at the LATCH lever area.

Mine happened to the service manager and he never pushed the door at all. Simply pulled the handle and released it without touching the manual lock. They actually stick together one out of a few hundred times.
I've had fusions with the same mechanism and zero issues.
Thankfully it happened to him while I was explaining it was an issue.

A recorded video of it happening might convince me as well. What exactly is being sprayed with silicone, and how is that helping the "problem"?
Likely will never happen.
I've been waiting 3 years for somebody to produce a honest video of the Phantom locking. No one yet has been able to produce one. 🤷‍♂️
And it certainly gets hot here.

Based on the first 4 times I had it happen I surmised that possibly the handle release was binding on the lock mechanism.
I sprayed silicone between them and the issue went away for 3 months.
Came back and I did it again and it disappeared for awhile longer.
My guess is the clearance is to tight between the lever and the manual lock .
It's not a permanent fix but it works for awhile

Agree, I also have a 24 XLT Lux, NEVER had these weird problems! Forgot to add, knock on wood! J/K, if it hasn’t happened after 2 years…….

My 22 it happened quite regular. The 24's it's only happened once that I recall. Really annoying when your walking away and you hear the door lock.
You own a hybrid.
That's not the door you hear locking. It's the relays.

It sure is, I'm up to like 15 times.
Like I've told the dealership! Shame on me if I did it the first time but I've been extremely careful after that. I've actually had it do it twice without touching anything other than the handle and not do anything more than release the handle with just one finger

Let's see a video of this "auto locking" happening.

In the three years that this has been debated not one person has been able to record their allegations of an automatic locking.

Here is a video of how It's accidentally being locked.
I showed that the door was indeed locked when pushed open.

So after the first instance I use just one finger to pull the handle and push on the closing handle way below any part of the lock assembly. I've actually watched it hang up on the release handle 2 times. Silicone is a temporary fix that lasts for 3 months or so.
To say it poor engineering is an understatement.
My 2 fusions had almost duplicate handles. They never locked like this one does but the plastic broke a few times where the release rod hooked in.
The loaner vehicle I have is a ford escape with the exact same handle assembly. No issue with it.
I'm lucky it happened once with the service manager in the driver's seat. He was extremely careful not to touch the lock either. Only real fix is a bigger gap in the 2 mechanisms and a larger spring on the lock mechanism.
In my case with all the computer issues with be making it a RAV4.

Video doesn't show it happening after you leave. Ask the dealership if they leave all the drivers windows down while they are inside. Mine does because of that reason.
But they don't want to talk about it.

No we heard it lock.
Does it still happen?
Is it still just the driver's door?
As you posted back in 2023?
As it says it seems to be an ongoing issue. All the other doors don't lock just the drivers. This morning I drove to the lumber yard, grabbed my keys to unlock and turn on the lights. Maybe 3-4 minutes total and the drivers door was locked when i came back out???? THe dealer has no clue.
Why is only locking the drivers door then after I walk away?
A post from Dec 24
