Door locking incident...

No way this happened. He locked it with his hand the same way hundreds of us have done by now. If it was "sticking" together with "something"...we would have seen and heard it by now. "Self locking door....you are NOT the father"........

The amount of force to push that lever AT the pivot point almost, where it touches the handle release base, would require not only a binding mechanism, but a messed up spring.
Maybe they reversed the springs - stronger one on handle, weaker on the lock lever - and it's massively binding.
To claim this is a big problem is ignoring how many admit upon exam they did indeed push it.
This should be an easy video next time it happens.
Personally I'd think the snap release would be safer, and a slow lowering of the handle would cause more friction with the lever.
Just a video of it trying to move like it's almost grabbing - would be vastly different than it appears anyone else.

And that's a very different symbol and headlights!

I used to lock my drivers door all the time by accident. Now, hardly ever. And, if I do, I just unlock it from the drivers side backseat door.

That's because you came to the realization that you were locking it by accident. At this point the holdouts will never realize or admit to it. It doesn't matter that the coding for autolock is nowhere in the Maverick. Unless you're driving it at 13+ miles an hour. Then all doors will lock.

There is literally no way for the lock lever to retract / pulled back and relock when you're releasing the door handle NONE.

Well, here we are at post #129 oops that was just added.. Now at post #130 on this weeks currently hot topic, when the "issue" or in this case "non-event" was completely and thoroughly, as well as eloquently addressed by the esteemed Dr. Glen Baker in post #4, leaving a courtroom of even easily influenced jurors no alternative but to find that the Maverick was not guilty of any and all charges...

If you really think about it. Having a code that only "auto-locks" the driver's door is totally ridiculous.
I guess the explanation is easier than backpedaling.

I think the driver door autolock feature was mentioned in the Superman comic that introduced the Bizarro world, where the feature made sense... Otherwise, not so much.
