RE: walk-away lock, maybe this is widely known, but the option is listed in the Forscan F-150 features. No idea what trims or even other models, if any, it may be available on.

I've only owned my 2023 Maverick Lariat Ecoboost for 3 days, but here are my initial thoughts.

I've been driving pre-2012 XLT Ford Rangers for 15 years, so I'm used to minimal features and manual analog everything. The digital automation in the Lariat is going to take some getting used to. Most of it is pretty cool, like having the heated seats and heated steering wheel come on automatically below a certain temperature.

Some of it is quite annoying, though. Like having the engine shut off at a stop light. No, thank you. I already have an auto start/stop eliminator on order. Ford needs to make this a permanent toggle, not a toggle for the current driving session.

It drives really nicely, and overall gives a better ride than my Ranger. Rear window visibility is poor compared to the Ranger, but the adaptive cruise control is awesome.

The seats are very comfortable, and although I've read a number of complaints on this forum about the stereo, I think it sounds really good.

Overall, I really like it!

I'm pretty sure even the Lariat lacks that capability, but I could be wrong. I'll find it and poke at it this weekend.

This is selectable in the menu on my Bronco and my dad's F-150, yes. But I initially suspect the Maverick isn't equipped to do it. We'll see!

BTW I haven't poked at this before because while I do like it, I actually don't really trust it and lock manually anyway.

It is not selectable on my "base" Lariat. Doesn't really bother me as I've never had it before. I do wish the FordPass app would limit the current locked/unlocked status of the vehicle, though!

right, it would have to be from Forscan, which I have and am somewhat familiar with. it's definitely not advertised as a capability, what we're wondering is if it can be enabled in Forscan and made to work.

I always drove old manual trucks, small ones like the old Nissan pickup (before the frontier), the old ranger etc. For me this is perfect. If one was looking for more maybe all the add ons would be useful but at that point. But I agree with everyone else, its not a luxury and/or a full size trick.

Hey everyone!

I always see how much people love their mavericks regardless of the long wait time. A common thing said on here is, “it was worth the wait” even with people waiting 500+ days. I haven’t received my maverick yet but I’m beyond excited and I’m sure I will love it.

What are somethings that you wish were different that would make you love the maverick even more? Please don’t say “I wish I didn’t wait X amount of time” or “fords production process”. We all hate it lol
I've had mine a couple of weeks after waiting 16 months and I'm very happy with it. It's just the ticket and an excellent performer.

I Ordered this UTE because I sold my F150 for a ton and wanted to park in the garage for once . If you pay attention to this thread and are some what smart you understand it’s built cheap for a reason, hard plastic everything and it’s gonna rattle and all the threads I read about people bitching about small issues is expected . If rattles and noises for 20-30k are your issue buy a F150 for 60-80k and quit bitching this UTE is perfect for the price.

I picked my Maverick up on Monday afternoon. I really like it, however, the only remorse that I have is that I had to write a big check! I am a saver, so anytime I spend money I have some level of remorse. I have not sold my current truck that I bought new 17 years ago. It just sits there and somehow I feel like I have betrayed her. Does this sound weird to any of you? I know once I sell it and I do not have to look at it sitting there all lonely I will be fine. The Maverick is a great vehicle and really zippy. I real fun truck to drive.
I know the feeling. At the last moment, I asked the dealer if they wanted my 2003 Chevy S-10 that I bought new and only had put 64,000 miles on it in 20 years (plus another 80-100k towing it behind a motorhome). They gave me $5k for it, so I parted ways with it.

I'm an XL work truck sort of truck owner. I like my Maverick and my F-250. Different trucks for different purposes. Maverick for errands, F-250 for towing and hauling. I am glad I'm not experiencing hybrid problems and I don't drive enough for the mpg difference to matter.

After a 370+ day wait I must say I love my Maverick. Getting close to 1000 miles and it delivers everything I expected. Living in pothole city the Maverick has not developed any annoying rattles or other noises. Drives nice and the fuel mileage is improving with age. My only complaint is that I constantly have to watch the speedo, cruises along nice and smooth, and in the 55mph zones I'm constantly finding myself at 65 plus. Working well for a senior citizen, 6 feet tall and 220 pounds. Easy to get in and comfortable for longer drives. So far so good!!!!

You better treat her nice or you many have another one of these girls on your hands!
