Because they hire squids from the local high school and pay them five dollars an hour and they put the covers back on bubble gum. It’s your choice. Why would you want to change your own oil in a new vehicle? My Ford Quick Lane charges less than I would pay for 6 qts of oil & filter. They also do multipoint inspection. Changing your own oil you must set up & drive onto ramps, then crawl under it & then you have to find a place to dispose of used oil & cleanup your tools. I can understand now trusting the corner quicky lube, but you should trust your Ford dealer.
First change on my 2024 xlt hybrid at 3,300 miles (1,800 highway) Ford recommended filter and Valvoline ultimate 0-20 full synthetic oil Meets/exceeds Ford Spec. Many Torx #30 for engine shield (it's no skidplate just keeps dirt off). Really tiny oil filter which the factory put on way too tight, had to use my claw style filter wrench to get it off. The recommended Ford filter is twice the capacity at least and has gotten good reviews. I normally used Mobil 1 filters but decided to give the factory one a go at least for the warranty period. Always prefill the filter and it's a verticle mount, no spillage. Very easy.I like to change my own oil. Has anyone observed or asked a Ford rep about the ability to access the oil filter? On the Ranger I have heard that one of the front wheel well liners must be partially removed in order to access the oil filter. I hope that this is not true on the Maverick.
Hello, just changed my own Oil and Filter. You have to remove the big splash shield under the motor. I believe 8 or 9 Torx head screws. Very easy. Some people in the club have cut an access hole also. Good LuckI like to change my own oil. Has anyone observed or asked a Ford rep about the ability to access the oil filter? To help getting up without assistance. While sitting in recliner or couch or whatever lift feet either one at a time or both together and hold them with knees straight but not locked pointing toes toward tv then towards ceiling during commercials. Also bend knees and straighten them without touching feet to floor. This will also build cheek muscles so you can handle sitting for a longer time in your maverick. If you watch tennis you can point your big toe of each foot and follow the ball! If you watch wheel of fortune toe point to the prize wedge of your choice. My first oil change was semi synthetic, it was a free oil change. I will pay for full synthetic with future changes. I have no intention of ever changing my own oil again, I can get down under the vehicle, but I cannot get back up without assistance.
You don't realize the importance of your core muscles until you become a "seasoned" person. Abs and lower back become the main focal point of existance and comfort. To help getting up without assistance. Got a rival skidplate on order that has access panels for filter and drain plug. Whenever I do my first change I'll definitely pop a fumoto on there to make it even easierHello, just changed my own Oil and Filter. You have to remove the big splash shield under the motor. Hello, I used Mobil 1 5-30 synthetic Oil and a Wix Oil Filter. I personally like Wix Filters. Got everything from O'Reilly. Just FYI, the Fumoto valve makes the oil flow very slowly.Got a rival skidplate on order that has access panels for filter and drain plug. Whenever I do my first change I'll definitely pop a fumoto on there to make it even easier
That isn't too much of a problem for me, my current car I use a pump to get it out the dipstick hole since the filter is also on top.Just FYI, the Fumoto valve makes the oil flow very slowly.
