I just received a 2024 Hybrid XLT. Pretty disappointed so far, but it's a company car/truck.
Being that I am 6'2 and move my legs, in doing so, I have hit the rotary dial at least 4 times while in cruise control knocking it into neutral or reverse.
I have read that someone installed an F-150 shifter. Are there any updates, pics, videos on this?
And would it work on a 2024?
I did that the day I picked up my truck. Scared the crap outta me.

Get yourself one of these:

Fixed my issue. Its slick not rubbery and I have not accidently moved the knob again.

Yep, some heavy clutches back in the day. You are correct though, most newer cars are running hydraulic clutch, very easy with those! Don't worry about "grinding" a few gears, the manual transmissions are fairly well built, should be ok there. We had a saying, "grind them till they fit"!
My Mitsubishi 3000 & Taurus V6 SHO had uncomfortably heavy clutches.
On the other hand my 3cyl. 2dr. GEO Metro was the easiest manual I have ever driven.

Were you doing yoga? Lol. I'm 6 foot and this hasn't happened once in 2 years of ownership.

I'm 6'1" and havent had this issue in nearly three years of ownership, maybe you need to adjust your seat and steering wheel so you have a little more room. The steering when should go up and down and in and out. Depending on the configuration for the seat, I have the XLT lux so mine has a lot of adjustments that can be made but for standard you should at least have back and forth and recline.
Wow I did not know it went in and out cool!

Not Yoga, Hes prolly like me and a lil heftier and "Man Spreads" I was digging in my pocket for gum when I did it. And Yes my knee rests on the dial shifter. I have sat on my twig and berries more than I want to admit! I sit spread legged in all my vehicles. Wifes 2024 Edge (Yes I need to update my list of vehicles) Wont allow me to do so. I hate driving it. It is the epitome of a females vehicle.

I’m taller than you at 6’5 yet i don’t have this issue
You must be under 250 lbs. I cant help but have my knee rest on the shifter/console.

I never said it wouldn't fit. My picture showed that my cup can be lifted (and your words hover) right over the rotary dial without banging into a shift lever.
I'll repost what you posted.
Oh so you drive around holding it over the dial, why use the cup holder if you just going to hold it all the time?

No, sometimes while holding it, I rest it on the dial. 😁
🤫When it's empty, the cup holder gives me a place to store it.

Hey, I'll bet that Geo got better mileage than my Mav Hybrid! Wife and I bought our first new car in 1974. The Army pay scale did not allow for anything very fancy, so we ended up with an orange 74. Datsun B-210! It had the easiest (hydraulic) clutch I have ever encountered. My 51 GMC 5-window, 6 cyl, 3-speed on the tree required you to almost stand on it to get it to go down. No smooth shifts without grinding the hell out of it, so learned to "double clutch". My grandfather said the synchronizers were shot. Fun truck at 13 years old though! Wish I had a restored old truck like that one, I do see them at car shows all the time. Hopefully they shift better than the one I had! Ha!

Don't understand how that could happen.
