I was watching Tim Bartz and he mentioned the deep sleep issues and said the solution is to just take longer trips so the gas engine runs more. I thought this was mainly software related and Ford was coming out with a fix by the end of March?

That was my understanding as well.

There is no telling how Ford will choose to approach this problem. Almost certainly should involve a different battery larger and/or deeper cycle. Also a change in the charging parameters will be necessary. We will soon see if end of March happens.

My totally ignorant know nothing about the Mavbrid fix would be,

AGM battery first thing.

Then a user/owner fully programmable charging control profile that she remembers every morning Like being able to set a voltage level that when reached the ICE will start and fully charge the drive batteries and top off the AGM.

At 5 AM the ICE starts, charges, warms up the cab, seats and steering wheel.
Calendar set so it won’t wake up on your days off. It sleeps in when you do.

All controlled from your phone, IPad, lappy/pc what ever. All from the comfort of your couch.
This day and age it should be voice command anyway.

Your out the door to go to work @ 6 AM
And find a toasty warm Mavbrid ready to go with fully charged drive batteries.

You’d still have remote start through your key fob.

I've been keeping a log of what causes battery drain while sitting for days.

So far the best defense against drain is pulling fuse #11. Even if you turn telematics off in the vehicle settings, it still tries communicate with servers and there is still drain.

I found minimal drain over 4 days of sitting with fuse 11 pulled, including keeping the key inside the vehicle and it being unlocked.

I just went in to the dealer one month ago with a dead battery on a 8 month old hybrid. My 390 CCA was replaced with a 470 CCA battery. I was told this will PROBABLY HELP. I asked about the AGM battery and was told that in order to use that the charging parameters would need to be changed. If not the life of the AGM may be shortened. Why would you pay for something not covered snd possibly void any battery replacement when you have a warranty. Yes there is an SSM number, #53087 and a supposed fix or recall coming in the first. It has nothing to do with the battery.

AGM battery first thing.
An AGM battery is just hiding some of the symptoms instead of fixing the cause. It should not be needed because of the way that the battery is used, so keep that out of the fix.
Then a user/owner fully programmable charging control profile that she remembers every morning Like being able to set a voltage level that when reached the ICE will start and fully charge the drive batteries and top of the AGM.
Definitely not. Most people would misconfigure it.
At 5 AM the ICE starts, charges, warms up the cab, seats and steering wheel.

Nope. Aside from that just wasting a lot of fuel, most people park in a garage. You're going to love that carbon monoxide poisoning.

Again, nope. Maybe you need a full-electric vehicle instead of a hybrid, since that's what you seem to be asking for. Having a fully charged HVB very much defeats the purpose of a hybrid. Also, if you really need the seats and steering wheel to be warm, maybe you should have bought that option like I did.

My 23' Hybrid Maverick would go into Deep Sleep 15 minutes after arriving at work.....my commute to work, 50 miles, of which 39 of the last 40 are Interstate highway......driving more is NOT the fix!

This is INSANE I have a 23 hybrid Now I charge the 12v battery every 2 weeks or I lose dome light and app. This is NOT normal or acceptable. If by end of March ford does nothing a law suit needs to be filed. Yes I know class action only the lawyers make money BUT ford needs to be hit in the wallet. .

THANK YOU!!!!! Ikeep trying to tell people to stop listening to the dead battery DIY fixes. Follow the Facts! The SSM clearly mention, and I quote, Engineering is currently working on a fix for an INTERMITTENT BATTERY DRAW. No repairs recommended at this time.
I had to wait for the battery to be below 40% capacity at 100% charged, before getting a replacement.
Dome lights quit working, radio and dash had message and shut down, key fob quit working, had to use key and finally had to jump it with a jump box.
It doesn't use 12v battery to start, but to run accessories and computers.

Yup. Start your truck and fill your garage with carbon monoxide.

Spend your Money your Day scheduling recharging and keeping your battery from going dead. Go drive around and waste gas charging. Hey honey, where you going. Just driving around on the freeway to charge my battery, how bout you. Oh not me, I have a life!

During the winter I find that temperature has a huge bearing on it. If it is really cold out I will have no dome lights and only the driver door unlocks. It’s a really a pain if it is very cold and dark.

When I took a road trip it appeared that it took about 7 hours to charge my battery.
