Weber State University has a great video as well. Ford and Toyota collaborated on this system, and they are virtually identical for each manufacturer. So this being for a "Rav4" is a moot point, they work the same in the Maverick and Escape hybrids, (as well as other Ford Hybrids with ECVTs)...
It's not a "Check Engine" light. When it is white, the ICE is running, when it is light grey, you are in EV mode. They need to change one color or the other in my opinion, it's too hard to tell the difference. I'd like to see it turn blue for EV mode, (or green). You can make it go away, by...
The only way I can make it go away, or come back is on the Android Auto app screen. If the AA app is full screen, you need to push the soft button with the 4 arrows pointing in to the center. That reduces the AA screen size and puts that menu up on the side.
On your dash screen, in the trip menus, there is a "Fuel Economy", scroll to that, and then press and hold the "OK" button to reset. It will reset to zero, and start building a new fuel economy profile for you. I reset mine at the end of April, and the end of October because cold weather has a...
I have tapped into the light next to the switch, to power the LED Light in my LEER Cap. I also used that same method to power 3 LED stick on light strips I stuck under the bed rails before I had my cap installed. Worked fine, no issues.
The Manual doesn't say any of that about applying the parking brake. It simply says to "pull the switch up." I just put it in Park, and apply the parking brake while my foot is still on the brakes, and then release my foot pressure. Having driven standard transmission vehicles most of my...
Your truck will charge your HV battery, while going downhill. It varies the charge rate as required to help hold your speed even. Once the HV battery is fully charged, the ICE kicks in to utilize "engine braking" to help reduce your speed. It sounds like it is reving, because it is. This is...
My round trip commute is 100 miles. I use ECO, and here's why. I have found that in ECO mode, my truck will run in full electric mode, (with enough battery charge, and 10% or less power demand), at higher speeds. In Normal mode, I can get full electric up to about 63 mph. In ECO mode I can...
Okay, I've been seeing a lot of posts on Social Media about gas mileage going down. Let me help clear things up for you, if you are one of the folks asking. There are a few things in play here that are affecting your gas mileage.
1) Temperature is huge, (not even talking about the heater yet)...
I say, YES it is! My Maverick Lariat, Hybrid AWD, with 4K Towing cost about the same as my wife's Rav4 Hybrid, and I have had way fewer problems with my Maverick, it is way more useful, has more stable wireless Android Auto, and I feel it drives and handles better too. While I admit the Rav4...
I got my 2025 AWD Hybrid in January, already has over 20k on it! LOL My commute is 100+ miles per day, and the Maverick has taken 2 trips from MD to ND and back already!
Maybe I can offer a little help. I had a 23' Hybrid, XLT. I wanted the Hybrid AWD, so I ordered one when they opened the order banks. My son had a 22' EB AWD, and wanted the MPG of the hybrid, so he sold his EB, and bought my 23' Hybrid. He has a company van for work, so his MAverick doesn't...
I ordered mine last August, it was built in November, and I took delivery in January. I an email that it was scheduled, and nothing more until a email telling me it arrived at the dealer.....I, however, was tracking in nearly daily, so I knew when it was in production, when it was built, in...
No, there is no way to do it from inside the truck for the 2025 keypads. They are wireless, battery powered, essentially a fob with numbers instead of unlock and lock buttons. Also, you can only add 1 personal code, unlock the old wired keypads, (I think you could add 4 or 5).
