I have a xlt 2022 maverick hybrid lux package with co-pilot 360 I’ve gotten the deep sleep mode with disabling functions like remote start and ford pass app to preserve the battery. However it always started with the key so with many different issues others have on this site, so i decided to test mine. Here what happened.
After letting the truck sit for a week outside from Saturday 10/28/2023 to Thursday 11/2/2023 I got the disable remote start in ford pass app, then on Friday 11/3/2023 got the deep sleep mode so I said screw it so I let the truck sit until 11/13/2023 because I wanted to see if the truck would start. So first I tried the ford pass app with no results, then I got into the truck and turned the key and the engine fired right up. So my question: is the ford app just full of shit and not working properly and giving us false information or are the issues people on this site claim just hot air? Just wondering…..

Many of us have found the 12v battery drops to about 11.8v which seems to trigger the alert which notifies us that certain features have been disabled. Doesn't this suggest these "certain features" are thus causing the issue and that their being switched off stops or mitigates the drain? I think most of us have found the truck will still start, but constant draining down below 12v is not a recipe for battery longevity. I'd like to see occasional updates from those who have installed aftermarket batteries but wouldn't be surprised to find better batteries with more reserve capacity simply take longer to discharge to the alert trigger voltage.

I have been monitoring the battery voltage at the 12 volt socket at the dash. I am seeing the same 11.7-11.8 voltage when entering the vehicle. Once started the voltage goes to >15 volts.

Once I turn off the vehicle, the voltage drops back down to 11.7-11.8 volts in less than one minute. There can't be a parasitic draw because the voltage the next day is still the same 11.7-11.8.

I thought it might have a shorted cell in the OEM battery, so I went to Autozone, and bought the Duralast battery. I installed it on Friday. I went out to the vehicle the next morning and measured the battery right at the terminals with a multi-meter and the new battery was at 11.8 volts. No sleep mode warning on the app.

I returned the new battery and put the OEM back in and reset the BMS by flashing the high beams five times and pressing the brake pedal three times. Got the deep sleep notification last weekend.

I really don't know what the issue is. The battery should not be dropping from 15 volts to 11.7 volts in less than a minute. It is very consistent. I don't think bringing it into the dealership would help.

Not that this should be way to solve these issues but I know some have said removing fordpass app didnt solve the problem but has anyone tried to also disable connectivity in the settings ?

According to Ford " If your vehicle has a FordPass Connect modem your vehicle will continue transmitting data to Ford even if you uninstall the FordPass App. You can turn off 'Vehicle Connectivity' via the in-vehicle SYNC system, in the Settings menu and therefore, the sending of data from your vehicle's modem will cease. "

I bought a cheaper Noco Genius 1 maintainer and had used it to charge the battery on my old Prius which had a newer OEM battery, it took a while for it to trickle up to fully charged and then enter a repair mode as it fully charges, but it finally turned solid green. I had been using it on the Maverick which was getting down to 11.5-11.8, but it never had a chance to fully charge to solid green on the Noco, and if I got up to 12V with the Noco, the Mav seemed to charge like it should in my short drive to work at 12.18v when I arrived using a multimeter. I put it on the Mav this morning thinking I could leave it all weekend and hit solid green, but when I checked it later it ended up draining the battery to like 8v somehow. I was connecting tot eh battery but the battery is still connected to the Mav terminals, so I figured something was left on like a relay that caused the discharge. I have the battery disconnected and the Noco Genius connected direct and it is slowly back up to 12.2v again, so I hope it is able to fully charge and possible heal the battery a little. I don't even want to deal with the dealer and will probably buy a battery, but if I put in AGM I think you have to tell the ECU the type of battery.

Here's an up date on my deep sleep mode problem. The dealership called me Wednesday saying the problem was resolved. I looked at my app, I still could not remote start it and it still displayed the error message.

I went to the dealership to talk to the service rep and told him I still cannot remote start my Maverick and the error message was still there. He went to get the technician who worked on my Maverick and I showed him the app on my phone. He couldn't understand why I was still getting that error message b/c it didn't show up in the logs he pulled up. I asked him if he put a battery tender on the battery that night and he didn't . I said let's put on the battery tender on today and let's see what happens tomorrow. The next day, the service rep called saying the service tech is seeing an issue and he was going to get another battery to see what happens.

As of now, the dealership still have my Maverick and I still have their loaner vehicle. I'm hopeful they will find a fix to my problem.
A big YAY for both you leaving your truck and for dealer for wanting to thoroughly checking it!

I have a noco genius 5 and it takes it around 72 hours or more to bring up to solid green and be in standby. Left on it will be topping battery off almost every day or two.
I believe that one way to tell the ecu/bms the battery type is to have the newly installed battery 100% fully charged and immediately run the truck locked up to 8 hour battery learn procedure. The voltage at installation time might, maybe be used to set a "charge to" parameter. Shouldn't have to do this but could possibly speed up automatic battery type learn determination.

I looked on noco Web site and found this in specs for current genius 1 (since we have computer or something using current at least occasionally how much of the one amp is running the draw and not fully recharging the 12v?)
From Noco:
Charging
Current: 1 Amp DC
Voltages: 6V, 12V
Chemistry: Lead-Acid and Lithium
Types: Wet, Gel, MF, CA, EFB, AGM, Lithium
Capacity Range: Up to 30 Amp-Hours
Maintenance: All Battery Sizes
NOTE: I am not sure how to interpret the charge capacity Range 30 Amp-Hours. With our 12v being 70 Amp-Hours?? Does gen 1 Rest for a period and then do an additional 30 Amp-Hours or What?
My Gen 5 shows capacity of 120 Amp-Hours
and a gen 10 shows 230 Amp-Hours capacity.

Looking at the data sheet for what I have, Genius2 (rated for 40AH), and it shows how long it takes to charge various sized batteries. Larger batteries just take longer.

I used to have the same issue until I replaced the crappy 12 volt battery with a optima yellow top battery. That issue is gone. The battery voltage was dropping down to 10.7 volts as soon as I shut the truck off. This was after long trips too.

The data sheet should better indicate "capacity" meaning. It should say capacity from (50% or ?) so to 100% is xx hours. By stating capacity is xx Amp-Hours IMPLIES that there is an undetermined issue of one kind or another if used on a battery with a greater capacity. One would question whether or not the repair function would still be properly diagnosed and or executed? Or what else. On the positive side the Noco genius 5 did charge and repair my dead flat AGM Polaris battery but it took a long time

Yeah it's rather poorly worded, most likely to trick people into buying a more expensive unit when they don't need to. It's like the marketing department said to them, 'hey we need to be able to say it will do this, in this much time for advertising' and the engineers went, 'ummm, okay'.

Here is an update on my deep sleep issue....all is good & fixed.

I got my Maverick back about a week ago and since then I have not received the deep sleep problem on my app. The dealership replaced the battery for the 2nd time. When they called me they wanted wanted to know if the error message was still there on the app and if I'm able to remote start it. No error message on the app, I was able to remote start it and he told me to come pick up my Maverick.

My dealership (Serra Ford Rochester Hills, MI) did a great job resolving my problem and didn't blow me off! They wanted to make sure my problem was resolved! Also, the tech who I spoke with about the problem didn't give me the sad story saying it's your problem and not ours!
