Next thing I know the truck stopped running. I tried to make it into the next road opening to get off the busy street. Unfortunately this was uphill so it soon stopped moving….half in and half out of the road! It was dusk and everyone was driving with headlights on due to low visibility/light. I immediately hit my hazards. They worked for about a minute and then died! Honestly, I don’t know how I didn’t get hit....

I called Ford Roadside Assistance as I stood near the rear of my truck waving frantically at the oncoming traffic to let them know my truck was in the road.
This is why you are supposed to have flares or triangles in your vehicle as part of a safety kit. Very important items to have!

It did take a while to go solid green, but I have been OK ever since I charged it to solid green the second time with the battery disconnected or the negative clamp on the body, then let it sit for 6 hours to calibrate, but I also reset the battery sensor doing the dashboard light flash which may do the exact same thing. I bought a 2A NOCO that mounts in the vehicle, I was thinking I could do that instead of buying a new battery. That way I can connect it through the battery sensor, but putting the negative on the body ground point and not have to deal with clamps each time.
Excellent the vehicle mounted version is much more convenient and as a result it will get used more often. It should help battery last much longer than without using it. The continual draw (from most new vehicles) is harmful and time shortening to battery life. I expect the six-eight hour calibration to allow bms to measure battery health and help detect problems related to storage loss at certain temps, etc. I expect bcm/bms to initiate that calibration periodically. Don't stop using the noco even if your stock battery needs replacing soon as battery damage could already have been done. I had a 2012 Honda crv that are battery in 26-32 months. Last battery installed with noco 5 used about 3 -4 month intervals was still going at 62 months when I sold it.

I called the dealership this week to make an appointment for my Lariat Hybrid because I'm also getting the message on the app a few times a week. They couldn't get me until later this month but I'm concerned they'll just give me the standard answer "couldn't duplicate problem". How did they explain that you are frequently getting the deep sleep message? Are they saying that's normal?
I finally got an appointment at the dealership on Friday and they said they couldn't duplicate the problem (as expected) however they did reprogram the TCM based on Ford's Special Service Message SSM 51725. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2023/MC-10237977-0001.pdf
So now I'll have to see if this solves the problem or if I continue to get the deep sleep message.

When I had my Maverick in for this problem they also said they could not duplicate the error. When I talked to the tech & service guy I showed them my app with the error message and said why can’t I remote start my Maverick? The tech said that error message didn’t show up in the Maverick log and agreed I should be able to remote start it from the app. They both agreed to hold onto to it and see what they can do.

At the very least your dealership should be checking for any Ford issued TSB's & SSM's that could be related to the issue. If the deep sleep issue continues for me I'll be right back at the dealership asking what the next steps are. But I'm really hoping that the reprogramming of the TCM that the performed will have solved the issue.

To update my experimenting, since I fully charged the battery and reset the sensor it has been OK for the past few weeks even if it still shows 11.7v before starting. As soon as I notice a low power warning in the app or no interior lights I'll report back with about how long I was able to go before the problem returned.

My interior lights no longer come on either, and my remote won't start the truck. I am taking it in Tuesday to see if the TSB for this problem will work. According to other posters here, it really doesn't help, so?????????????

To update, I got about a month out of charging the battery before I noticed it leaving the interior lights off or sending me a low power message in the app. So for my daily driving less than 10 miles to work and not much on the weekend, I get about 1 month. I wired in an in-car maintainer, but it takes too long to charge from the low power point, so I might see how it does if I top it off more often than once per month.

Seems to be two complete separate threads on this same problem?

Actually there are several threads that talk about the BMS/battery issues for both the ecoboost and the hybrid...

Well some minor success, the battery is still on the Noco 1, I was checking progress with a multimeter since it was up past 13v but still blinking slow RED, turns out it got up to 13.5v, then checked it later and it was down to 13.4v, so I just got impatient and unplugged it and let it start over with a more charged battery. Finally toward the end of that day it went into the slow Green blink, so it has been there all day today, and I am hoping by sometime tomorrow to have solid green. Then I can try to see how it behaves and see if it lasts or if this battery is toast now, if toast I might just pay for a new good quality one. I don't want Ford changing something without a good explanation as to what is causing it.
I looked at noco site and the chart shows charge time for a genius1 for a 30ah battery with an soc of 50% to be 72 hours. This will be for a battery by it's lonesome self. The mave battery is about 45ah so at the same soc it will probably take 108 hours. Also since the mave will periodically if not continually use the computer the genius will have to replace those ah's also which will add more time. If you have red blink alternating with the mode light blinking then you need to restart as the noco has detected an anomaly of some kind and is not charging. We do NOT know how the Ford BMS works but with the truck clicking from time to time it might be possible that the computer might be checking 12v BMS occasionally and the genius1 is seeing that 13.5v as an over voltage of battery. Also are you resetting the mave BMS after you are charging the battery. It's possible you may need to run the "up to 8 hour with truck locked battery learn procedure" also. My genius5 can take three days to stop blinking green.

I added the Noco 2A in-car unit, thinking it would be easier than the clamps on my Noco1, but it does take a long time. I made sure to body ground the negative so it is detected by the car, but it does use juice just sitting there like you say. I was convinced just me checking it was a problem. But it is like topping off a beer, the foam dies down and it adds a little more beer, so at some point I just called it fully charged, but it never went solid green while connected to the car. When I charge the battery disconnected from vehicle it goes solid green.

Note: The clamps on the noco have a screw which holds them onto the wires. The 2 amp model to mount into the vehicle has the clamps removed along with a case with screw holes to mount.
Also if you leave noco connected with solid green it is in standby mode, will periodically check voltage of battery and start it's "maintenance" mode blinking. The ambient temp changing can slightly increase or decrease the soc. This can happen to the battery when it's on the bench but less often because it is truly at rest. This would be a vote for having two batteries of any brand or type and switching them in the maverick every 2-4 months. (Best for battery life but PIB to do or too expensive if you pay to have it done).
Also: I read on Noco site that repair mode should be ran with battery on bench as voltage can vary between 10-20volts and can only be used on the 12v battery type (not sure if AGM can be but expect not due to most likely increased gasification in the mat). Lithium is excluded. The reason repair is done on bench is the possibility of the voltage variance damaging something in the vehicle so if Ford gives thumbs up = DOIT!

hows your battery been lasting now. ive been dealing with the same issue, dealership blaming my dashcam. im tiring of not having my remote start, especially living in canada.
