Custom Tailgate Tie Down That Work With Tailgate Assist Installed (Recovers Lost Tiedown)

Our truck is enroute and we ordered the tailgate assist to be added at the dealership. Can someone explain to me about a tie down being removed to add the tailgate assist? We hadn't heard that! And since I don't have a truck here for reference, if you can add anything to explain what this all means functionally, I'd be grateful.

Here is a picture on it installed.

That's my truck and after actually using it I don't like this design. It's only using one of the attachment bolts and it's perpendicular to the fastener. They can't be used on the side of the tailgate. I was recently hauling plywood and when I started to tighten the straps it started to bend. I wasn't confident in its ability to hold securely. I'll be ordering some from @Chandonnet

There isn't enough clearance to keep the stock tiedown in place.
