Search this site for P2282. Might get answers I am going to see what I can find!
EDIT TO ADD: FOUND THIS:
got the same service warning today with 600 miles on the clock. I called into the Ford dealership about 20 mins after the service light came on. The guy out front said that the fuel cap was possibly open, I reminded him that the Maverick doesn't have a fuel cap. After, he told me that I was covered by warranty and not to worry about whether I should drive the truck or not. Just carry on and make an appointment with the service department. I will call them on Monday and update this thread with the response I get from the dealership.
EDIT TO ADD: FOUND possibly could be air leak detected if oil dip stick is not properly seated or gas filler cap is not closed good and leaking or you filled up with gas with engine running? One reports he is driving and getting less mpg? I don't know what else....
I had that happen once with my last vehicle (Hyundai Kona) regarding the fuel cap..my only check engine error/light ever…

Yep, every single domestic car breaks down before 1,000 miles and there has never been a Toyota with an issue.

And of course I'm sure you followed the engine break-in guide in the owner's manual.
nice victim blaming.... c'mon, you know he shouldn't have a check engine light before 1000 miles... stop trying to defend the indefensible...

Decided to take a last minute trip a few hundred miles down the road and didn't even get to our destination before the engine light came on. Only have 860 mi and 2 months with the vehicle. I know I'll get bashed for saying this but...t's my first domestic vehicle will probably be my last. If I can't even make it to 1000 mi before issues arise, it doesn't leave me with much confidence that it'll last long term. It's a shame cuz we've really enjoyed the vehicle up until this point

I have bought a lot of equipment over the years that cost a lot more than the Maverick and you will always have more issues when delivered than after use. Just because parts are new doesn't mean they work. And it's better now than later.

The Ford app has the following:
" the engine control system has detected air leak into engine that should not be present. When this condition is present can occur the engine start stop feature if equipped disabling.". Code reader has P2282, air leak between throttle body and intake valves. Of course! And out of town. And getting an appointment is impossible in the area I'm in especially over a holiday weekend. My concern is do I drive it? Or not?
Hey there pb3-

I had the same message pop up on my app...

It healed it's self and hasn't come up again.

Remote start works fine though the app.

By the way, your domestic vehicle comment is hilarious...
(You sound like a major drama queen)

Apparently asking for a new Ford vehicle to not behave like a 10+ years old car is being a drama queen here. I think we are all being chumps here and ford is laughing at us to wait in a line to get a vehicle with this quality. Yesterday, I saw a video on YouTube about a Toyota Tacoma that had 1.6 million miles on it. Granted, it had an engine replacement at 800K miles, but still super impressive. That is like 16 Mavericks life spans right there.

yeah less mpg because it's basically running in limp home mode where there's a much higher fuel to air mix ensuring that it won't stall out.

He is in fact a drama queen if he went directly to "I'm taking my ball and going home".

Someone might have managed to get 1.6M miles on an older tacoma once but certainly not everybody.

Last I checked the local toyota dealer had full service bays and there weren't all there for oil changes.

I swear the generalizations you see are ludicrous. 🤣

CEL in the first 1000 miles is definitely obnoxious. But to immediately lump all domestic products together due to a (probably) non-issue is ridiculous.

It's like the people who parrot, without even thinking :"only buy Japanese!" No manufacturer is immune to issues and most have good and not so good models. I've owned everything from Fords to BMWs to Mazdas to Jeeps to Hondas. The only consistency was Jeeps always had little things breaking 😆, BUT were easy to work on; model-dependent.

Everyone of them has issues blaming a specific brand doesn’t fix anything

That is disappointing and I can't blame you for being upset. If it is any consolation, foreign makes can have issues: In 1986 I purchased a brand new Mercedes Benz. It had about 800-1000 miles on it when I came out after running an errand and tried to start it. It turned over but the engine wouldn't start. I had it towed to the dealer where they found a rubber hose was disconnected, it just fell off. After that, no more issues. So keep the faith. Jim Farley is well aware that the company he runs has quality issues, he said that a goal is to reduce issues related to quality and the costs associated with them. I write this as I eagerly await my hybrid which is scheduled to be built as a 24 the week of 10/16/23. Meanwhile, I have enjoyed my Lariat 2.0 EB as the perfect balance between utility and comfort. Hang in there! P.S. My Mav is the first Ford product I ever purchased.

I Also, some time back, (hybrid?) read that in the event of too high radiator fluid temp, possibly if fluid level was too low or (?) that the ice could run on two cylinder limp mode in order to reduce heat. Have not been able to refind where I read it.

According to the symptoms described, it sounds to me like a crack in the plastic intake manifold. On an old carbureted engine it could cause a lean cylinder and possibly result in a burned piston.
On the Hybrid engine we have direct cylinder fuel injection, so the only possible problem would be a little less filtered air getting to the engine. I would do a good eyeball inspection of the intake manifold, and maybe listen for a leak, or do the propane test to see if the rpm increases when propane gets sucked into the crack. Otherwise, I would drive it home, if it ran okay and didn't show any other symptoms.

How easily you negatively judge the issue...which you have no idea how serious it is...if at all.

Too sad. It appears these trucks are not quality vehicles.
