I get the typical "Get a real truck!". My comeback is usually, "Mine can haul air just as good as yours!"
I've actually had Big Truck guys say they thought my Maverick looked really nice. But if someone says, get a real truck, I say, This does everything I need it to do.

Yo I'll take some hardworking Mexican worker's that probably are extremely grateful they work for a good company, over the drunk ass lazy American worker saying go talk to my union rep every day.
Well, my goodness, that gets an award for being the biggest bunch of blatant prejudice BS all in one package that I've read this week.

The funny part, for me anyway, is the Mav is actually a pretty big vehicle, certainly bigger than the RAV4 kind of things I've been driving for the last 20-30 years. I live in the city and really don't know how the Bro-dozers survive.

A coworker called mine a Clown Car the other day.
I just laughed.

My Maverick is my car with a bed. My 250 is my truck.

You are not wrong. Went from a Tacoma to this. Oddly enough, the factory in Mexico that makes Tacoma's is not getting a good reputation for their final year models on the gen 3's. It's a little funny seeing cultists trying to spit the kool-aid out before they swallow too much...
Exactly, I've said it before, but many people buy Tacomas for their reputation and not for what they actually offer.

In a parking lot of bro-dozers, soccer mom Volvos and generic SUV blobs, my Maverick draws attention and comments quite frequently. I enjoy the jabs and don't hesitate to have some friendly banter with friends and colleagues. I did not expect it would be my 14 year old niece to take the award for best Maverick insult to date.

While taking my daughter and niece on a short shopping trip in the Mav, my niece remarked that it was quite nice and was "kind of like a beginner truck."

A beginner truck...like I'm just learning to truck!

So funny!

Anyone else with clever Mav insults?
I lol...I agree, so funny. My granddaughter always jumps in my truck and says "I love this little truck". Then takes.over the radio with her phone.

Some dude said...look its another Gay maverick brother. I took a line from one of the greats....well if you wanna get your "×%# Su&#÷× buy a ford...If you wanna Su#@ D×+$ buy a Dodge. He was confused....not surprised. He was driving a 2500 cummins.
Jesus, that sounds like a toxic conversation 😆. He's probably the kinda of guy to drive around with his political views plastered all over his window, along with some racist stickers, and one of a rifle that says "Come and take it".

I was at a gas station yesterday when a similar sized truck rolled up, power step folds down and this smaller woman climbs out to gas up her truck. $91.00 she complained. I get irritated when I can’t coax 32 mpg out of my Subaru. it takes all types I guess. I just can’t imagine piloting one of those huge trucks in everyday traffic.
This is exactly why I bought a maverick. Dozens of times a year, we're like, it would be really nice to have a truck, but couldn't justify driving a huge gas guzzler.

I don't feel the need to think of the Maverick as a truck or compare it to body on frame trucks. If anyone asks I say it's an SUV with a bed. I like that that is what it is and like that it is comfortable like a car.

The problem nowadays is that people don't buy real trucks because they need a truck. They buy them to look cool. I can't tell you how many threads I saw on Tacomaworld where someone bought a Tacoma for this reason and then posted a thread about how shitty it rode or the bad mileage and how they are "going back to a Subaru"

I will take my Taco thru my fields, hook a chain to the hitch and yank a tree down or pull someone out of a ditch with it. I wouldn't do those things with my wife's last SUV nor will I do it with the Maverick.

We drive the Mav on the weekends and I appreciate that I don't have to climb up in it, huge turning radius, bad mileage etc. I'm OK with it not being a truck and love that I can be in a car and have a bed to put something in I wouldn't be able to fit in an SUV cargo area. #shrug#

How about this comeback: Unlike some truck owners, I don't feel the need to compensate for certain "inadequacies"

Reminds me of my nieces hubby. F'250 toolbox, the fake scrotum hanging from the trailer hitch. The chain going to his wallet. Works as a janitor. Has no idea how to work a power tool. When at a family gathering all he talks about is guns. His wife is the one who makes the money. A redneck wannabe. Feel bad for his kids cause he complains how broke he is.
That does it!
I want some mini balls for my truck
Someone MUST make a tiny nutsack version for the maverick. That is gold. Just carry it in the truck until you find a F250 with a big ol dangler and park next to it with your grapes dangling haha
I think it would be funnier to get an oversized set for the Maverick.
The fake scrotum thing is funny. Those things didn't come from the factory, welcome to the trans world big guy.
For what it's worth, I always have appreciated steering into the skid: I'd be most tempted to find the largest representation of the female anatomy to hang from it and add a little metal plate to the bottom of it so sparks would FLY from it everywhere I went. :ROFLMAO:

NSFW but comedian Kyle Kinane does a hilarious bit about duallys with truck nuts. The whole bit is absolutely hilarious but I linked to where that specifically starts at about 6:10 in below.
