  1. Guess who had to park in the "Oversized" lot today? That's right. Me.

Today's full-size trucks and SUVs are ridiculously oversized compared to cars from the 60s. My 1962 house has 76" high garage doors.
  2. Is the Ford Maverick Lariat Worth $40k?

Huh, 2022 was the only model year that cruise control wasn't standard across the line and it's the one thing I wish my 2022 XL had.
  3. Hauled 60cu.ft. in the bed below the bedrails

Don't blame the OP, the bags in his pic are alearly labeled as 3 cubic feet. Regardless of the actual size of the load, can we all just agree that the Maverick is quite the capable hauler for being a compact pickup?
  4. USAA SAFE PILOT/SAFE PILOT MILES PROGRAMS

Isn't that true for all insurance companies though? Rates are going up for pretty much everyone, regardless of their claims history. Insurance companies are paying out record amounts every year now and they eventually have to pass those costs on to their policy holders.
  5. USAA SAFE PILOT/SAFE PILOT MILES PROGRAMS

That's an apples to oranges comparison. SafePilot is an app on your phone, not a device that's plugged into your OBD2 port.
  6. USAA SAFE PILOT/SAFE PILOT MILES PROGRAMS

Pretty sure occasional harsh braking and or phone handling is okay. I suspect if you consistently do either, it will reduce your discount.
  7. USAA SAFE PILOT/SAFE PILOT MILES PROGRAMS

I've had the SafePilot app installed for a couple of years now for both myself and my wife. I just checked and for the current policy period, we saved a little over 20%. We're both retired so maybe don't get a bigger discount because we don't drive as much? As pointed out by others, the app will...
  8. Next gen Maverick should have pass through from bed to back of cab

Meh, still an apples to oranges comparison. My other car is a compact SUV. Even if I was offered an unbelievable deal on a Ford Expedition, I wouldn't get one because it's way more vehicle than I want or need. No way I'd give up the daily practicality (mpg, maneuverability, ride, etc) of a...
  9. Next gen Maverick should have pass through from bed to back of cab

Hmm, base model Maverick is $24k, base model F150 is $39k. That's 60% more! Plus it's an apples to oranges comparison, the F150 is obviously more capable than the Maverick. It's also way more truck than many people need. The Maverick is as popular as it is because it's fills a market need for an...
  10. If you’ve been sitting on the sidelines waiting to buy your new maverick you might wanna pull the trigger before April 2"".

You're either being disingenuous or naive. The definition has nothing to do with the fact they can and are being used for political purposes.
  11. Can I Buy a 2025 and store it for a year?

Different states and insurance companies have different rules. Some states allow you to register a vehicle that won't be driven and insurance is way less in that scenario.
  12. Storing My Maverick - any tips besides battery tender?

I considered that option have had squirrels chew thru the high-pressure fuel line. Starting the truck remotely in that scenario would result in a burned out hulk.
  13. Storing My Maverick - any tips besides battery tender?

I tried using peppermint oil in the engine compartment but that obviously hasn't deterred them!
  14. Weather stripping for tailgate and hard trifold tonneau cover

I've got a soft trifold and haven't had a problem with water but I drive on dusty gravel roads pretty regularly and dust finds it's way into the bed.
  15. Holiday Decor

Yeah Christmas lights on a passenger vehicle are kinda cool but flashing ones? Not so much.
  16. Why do people complain about others spending 40k on a maverick?

Just playing devil's advocate here but an XL can check all those boxes, except for the seats, and is at least $8k cheaper. You can get really nice aftermarket leather seats for a fraction of $8k. Granted a Lariat comes with more bells and whistles but those aren't on your list.
  17. Sorry It Didn't Work Out For Now.

I'm not in the market to sell but Carvana just offered me $25,600 for my low-mileage 22 XL that I paid $27,000 for new. So I'm pretty sure the used car market isn't saturated
  18. Who all here currently has an XL or has one on order?

22 XL with SIBL, fender flares, mud flaps & hood deflector.
