Reaction I got a party "Awe, it's like my dually and the sweet F-150 had a baby". Yep , and it came with a little baby price.

That does it!
I want some mini balls for my truck
Someone MUST make a tiny nutsack version for the maverick. That is gold. Just carry it in the truck until you find a F250 with a big ol dangler and park next to it with your grapes dangling haha

Oh I forgot one interaction - a family friend recently bought a new-to-him Silverado. He was ragging on me about the baby truck Maverick (or something along those lines). I'm all good if you want to poke fun, I've heard it all.

So generally curious, I asked him if his truck had the ticking timebomb 8 speed GM transmission. You know, the one with the lawsuits. He didn't know. Sorry, but if you don't even know which transmission you have, you don't get to rag on mine. Same guy assumed the Maverick was slow because it's...small? idk, it would definitely keep up with the 5.3 Silervado in the 1/4 mile though. Tuned, the Maverick would beat it.

In a parking lot of bro-dozers, soccer mom Volvos and generic SUV blobs, my Maverick draws attention and comments quite frequently. I enjoy the jabs and don't hesitate to have some friendly banter with friends and colleagues. I did not expect it would be my 14 year old niece to take the award for best Maverick insult to date.

While taking my daughter and niece on a short shopping trip in the Mav, my niece remarked that it was quite nice and was "kind of like a beginner truck."

A beginner truck...like I'm just learning to truck!

So funny!

Anyone else with clever Mav insults?
When told to get a "real" truck, I tell them that I have an F250 Diesel 4X4 and this is its offspring!

I think it would be funnier to get an oversized set for the Maverick.

I live in the heart of the reddest state in the union. And to be honest, all of my conversations so far has been in awe of it. Even the guy who had a very nicely equipped F-150 came over specifically to talk about how cool my truck was.

The butt-dragging or jacked-up trucks that peel out at traffic lights do that anyway, so I doubt that was a reflection on the Maverick. Honestly,. the biggest lie they tell is, "I don't care what people think about me." Yes, you do; otherwise you wouldn't have a truck that screams, "LOOK AT ME!" Buy a sensibly sized vehicle for your needs. That's how you tell people, "I don't care what people think about me."
This is exactly how I think about it (and almost everything).

It's cool if you want to drop your dough on things to show off. Just own that you want attention.

I'm spending my money on useful stuff that makes sense for my lifestyle.

Not wrong, either! That's literally how Ford is marketing it.

I've had a couple larger trucks peel out at traffic lights while next to me. Problem is I don't care; I stopped racing to the next red light when I figured that little problem out at 19.

Friend of mine asked why I didn't get a "real truck" and I told him I could buy two of these for the price of one of those. That was pretty much the end of that line of query.
It’s very satisfying when someone speeds past me, then I roll right past them at the next light, even more satisfying when they don’t realize the lights are timed (to match posted speeds) and they do it again 😂

My wife and I got the "look at the cute baby truck" from a women getting out of a F-150 that parked in front of us. I guess it's a testament of how well Ford made the Mav look like the rest of the Ford truck family.

Not only is the Maverick a gateway truck, it is also an end-game truck for those of us who have been there & done that with big trucks most of our lives, and no longer need the capacity/size anymore, but still need/want a truck.
(y)I'll be keeping my 2004 Toyota Tundra Limited TRD Off-Road (just turned over 75K miles/not my daily driver) for off-roading, to pull our pontoon boat and other trailers, and for larger loads. My Maverick XLT Hybrid will replace my current daily driver. I also needed something to carry my 110lb German Shedder in the back that gets better than 17 mpg highway...

That is cute, but also quite astute! Kind of goes full circle. Pretty unique vehicle that can do that! 🤠
I saved more than enough money on it to pay a professional with a “real truck” and a strong back to haul heavy stuff for me. I’m too “retired” to mess with that silliness.

“German Shedder”, love it! And always loved GSD’s…

This amuses me to no end. I told everyone that my Mav was my starter truck and that it hoped to grow up into a Ranger one day.

Then, we ordered a 24 and traded my 23 in for a 2020 Ranger. (The idea being less loss on trade-in down the road, but damn I miss my Maverick.)

My best friend and her mom DIDN'T notice it was a different truck! Even while my bf was sitting in the passenger seat where "Ranger" was clearly written on the dash. When I told them it was a different truck my bf said, "A white truck is a white truck is a white truck."

Reminds me of my nieces hubby. F'250 ... the fake scrotum hanging from the trailer hitch.
The fake scrotum thing is funny. Those things didn't come from the factory, welcome to the trans world big guy.
