I heard lots of those same comments. I usually walk away. However, with the annoying types I usually ask when is the last time you had a trailer hooked up and loaded or the bed loaded with a ton of stuff?
Oh, that's right never.
I've hauled +/- 2000 lbs repeatedly at ~ 3600 miles so who has the work truck ...

My usual response to those who chose to make disparaging remarks about the Maverick.

I had a quarter tank last Friday. My instinct was to get gas but then I realized, I can probably make it another week. It's Tuesday now and still just below a quarter.

When the Maverick arrived, went from a weekly refueling to twice a month with another 50% reduction in the # of gallons required.

I bought my first "mini" truck in 1970. It was a Datsun and I got it brand new for $2000 out-the-door. Second one was a 1972 Datsun and it was $2200 OTD. Carried a cabover camper all over the country for years. Have had fullsized trucks too and rarely miss them..

In a parking lot of bro-dozers, soccer mom Volvos and generic SUV blobs, my Maverick draws attention and comments quite frequently. I enjoy the jabs and don't hesitate to have some friendly banter with friends and colleagues. I did not expect it would be my 14 year old niece to take the award for best Maverick insult to date.

While taking my daughter and niece on a short shopping trip in the Mav, my niece remarked that it was quite nice and was "kind of like a beginner truck."

A beginner truck...like I'm just learning to truck!

My wife told me "It's like a barbie truck, it's cute I like it" lol. I just want to haul mulch and my mountain bike, I don't need the power to haul a house across the country haha
