I think some folks just need to let the system do its job. Maybe it’s different for EcoBoosts and the different AC but I find the hybrid’s system to work quickly and effectively.Good for you but some are getting little or no air flow in auto
My Ecoboost auto A/C works great too.I think some folks just need to let the system do its job. Maybe it’s different for EcoBoosts and the different AC but I find the hybrid’s system to work quickly and effectively.
It took me a long time to trust the Auto HVAC function. My 93 Altima probably ruined it for me for at least another 15 years. I started to come around to it with my 2014 Mazda 3 and gave in full with the my 2016 Outback. My Ecoboost auto A/C works great too.
Same for me. I set mine at 72 and occasionally adjust the fan speed if I need to. It's the first vehicle I've had where the "Auto" actually works as expected.I’m a set it and forget it guy. The auto works great on my Maverick.
2026 and my auto climate works great. Not sure why this original poster is having problems. Wondering out loud if it could it be related to being a 2025 model year?
Our 2023 Lariat hybrid (Lux model) with auto climate control with the manual controls below the screen works extremely well.
Or last passenger vehicle with actual dual zone climate control was a 2006 Cadillac DTS. This Ford climate control works just as well. Ford vehicles have always had great heaters and AC.
Our Ford Maverick is no exception. We get around 90 days or more above 100F here in our Mojave Desert climate area and we just set it on auto and 70F and the AC has kept the interior very comfortable.
This makes me wonder if this is related to the change when Ford screwed up the dashboard layout from something that was working extremely well in the 2022-2024 model years by putting everything including the kitchen sink onto a slightly larger touchscreen dusplay? It seems like those with the earlier models are replying that they are happy with the climate control and those with 2025+ are dissatisfied. Just an observation.
My washer fluid sensor doesn't work but A/C has always been fine and I live in Florida. Good luck!I love my 2025 Lariat but this has been driving me nuts.
I keep the automatic climate control set to 70. Set the level to 2 bars which is medium (I have also tried setting to 3 bars which is high). Confirmed AC light is on.
At home the vehicle is parked inside a large apartment building garage that is fully enclosed. The temp is always moderate and does not vary much, probably about 70 this time of year. I turn the truck on and it strong blows cold air immediately. Really, it almost seems like it is overdoing it more than it should. Kind of weird but hey it is blowing cold so I'll take it.
Then I go to a store and park outside in the sun when it is 80 and come back to the truck and turn it on. It is not blowing hard or cold. I end up cranking the temp all the way down to 60 and then I get a medium blow and medium cool air the rest of the trip. It is barely acceptable comfort at that point.
I had the dealer check it out when the truck was in for a defective washer fluid sensor. They said the climate control is working as designed.
The auto climate control worked better on my 2011 Subaru!
I read the manual and I am not aware of any setting that is incorrect.
This is just so wacky. It cools too much when the exterior temperature is moderate. It doesn't cool enough when it is hot outside.
Is the the auto climate control really designed to be this dumb and this is what others experience? Or do I have a defective system? It seems like some temp sensor is bonkers or something.
I am considering reaching out to the salesman about this or taking the vehicle to a different dealer.
Thanks for the help!
I've only just started my journey. I've driven many vehicles in the past with auto A/C, but this is the first vehicle I've owned with it. I always buy the simplest trim levels I can (within reason), and the Maverick is the first that forced me into it. I would be just as satisfied with manual A/C, but the auto works well.It took me a long time to trust the Auto HVAC function. My 93 Altima probably ruined it for me for at least another 15 years. I started to come around to it with my 2014 Mazda 3 and gave in full with the my 2016 Outback.
Ahhhh!!! Yes!!!! I forgot about the slight delay before the blizzard starts!!!!2025 XL in FL here - my experience with auto is the fan doesn't blow at max until the compressor actually gets down to temp, no need blowing hot air around, then after about 2-3 minutes and at one to two bars, it stays wherever I set it. On super hot days I just pre-start it about 3 minutes before getting to the car and it's cooled down. (starting from the app SEEMS to set the fan to high regardless, then when I put the key in it turns down to my desired auto fan speed.)
Yeah, mine is set for 1 bar and 69-71 depending, and I get plenty of cool (and heat during the winter). Did the same with the Escape before the Mav and both work identically well.I think some folks just need to let the system do its job. Maybe it’s different for EcoBoosts and the different AC but I find the hybrid’s system to work quickly and effectively.
