Is this really Hot Pepper Red?

So numerous images show this as the color of Hot Pepper Red:

But Tim Bartz at Long McArthur posted the fist Maverick had arrived in Hot Pepper Red looking like this:

That is a big difference! Not sure I like the color that showed up at Long McArthur. Maybe a cloudy versus a sunny day? Thoughts???

Mr. Bartz even referred to it as a burnt orange.
Glad I ordered Alto Blue.

I was going to go with the hot pepper red but I saw one picture somewhere where it looked more orange, which swayed me away from choosing it especially since it cost more. I wanted a true red, not reddish orange.

wish rapid red would have been available for the xlt!

I thought I was going to be on the fence between rapid red and velocity blue, but when I realized rapid red wasn't available in the XLT it made the decision easy. Hot pepper red doesn't do it for me, either.

Sure, if you're expecting to get orange. The people thinking hot pepper will be red might not be so enthusiastic.

I was always very conflicted about Hot Pepper Red. Website builder is nowhere near accurate on any of the colors and I didn't want to end up driving what looks like a highway construction sign. I don't think it's bad in the actual photos of it, but I don't think any of the available colors do the truck design justice or scream "gotta have it".

Its more red than orange during the day to me. In the sun it is burnt orange. Ideally it would be full on orange. lol. The video makes it look more orange than I think it is.

The most accurate representation is to call it TOBASCO.

Yeah ford's colors on B/P are whacked. We have seen both Cactus Grey and HPR in person on a Ranger and Full size Bronco. Both colors change so much outside with sun / shade /clouds. -

This is true. I have experienced the same.

To me when I think of cyber Orange that's actually the color I would think of. Not school bus yellow.

I'm wavering. I ordered a HPR Maverick based on some pics that showed it more red, but the burnt orange pics give me pause. I may stick with it, but I'm considering changing my order since my hybrid Lariat is still in the order pipeline.

10 years from now when the rust starts showing up on the fender skirts you won't notice it near as much on a HPR truck.
