Yes, very true. An advantage to having a Hybrid with a fueled recharging engine is that the engine just needs to run at idle and its maximum efficiency sweet spot. The Maverick Hybrid is labeled correctly, I see my C-Max's electric motor as a power booster as much as a fuel economy aid.I don't think "self charging EV" really fits, Technically yes the motor charges the battery, but it also drives the vehicle, so it's not a true EV.

Didn't matter if I was 10 mph over the speed limit or 100 mph in a 70. Our C-Max has been much better in this regard, the Maverick should be even better yet, not attracting so many aggressive drivers.
If the owner chooses their Maverick to properly meet their needs, I don't really see the argument between EB and Hybrid.
