Anyone else have this unusual issue? Marijuana smell coming from your vehicle?

Do you have kids that borrowed the Mav?

No. I am the only daily driver unless my husband and I take a roadtrip somewhere.

I will say this: my workplace shares a parking lot with a lot church that has daily NA meetings and gives away food once a week. It's not a stretch to say the NA meetings for these folks probably aren't working as well as they should be, because smelling MJ out in the parking lot isn't an unusual occurrence - not sure if people are vaping or smoking; it's one of those "I can smell it but I don't see it" situations. I never leave my windows down when I park.

Given that the smell dissipates as you drive away, that raises some questions.

Do you also smell this outside of the vehicle where it's parked, or in a nearby building?

Is it always at the same place (e.g. home) or does the smell that fades occur at other destinations?

Does anyone else drive or have access to the vehicle, such as a teenager?

With the one exception of the pizza incident stated, where the truck reeked for three days afterward, the smell is random. I suspect it's just FL being FL, although there are NA meetings at the building adjacent to our workplace and there's a definite odor that does, on occasion, emanate from the parking lot.

No teenagers at home. I am the sole driver unless my husband and I take a roadtrip.

Other than the pizza place (and three days after - very strong and directly in the truck), this weekend was the only other time I've smelled it.

So, initially I thought it was just from driving around the general Daytona area (and anyone who lives in the area knows what I'm talking about) but...

When anyone starts their Maverick and drives for the first mile or so, do you have the distinct smell of...marijuana (!!) coming from your vehicle?

The first time I noticed this I was picking up pizza in town, and there was a skeevey homeless dude hanging around the outside of the pizza shop, probably sizing me up to either ask for money or flat out rob me. (Don't try it, buddy...home girl is packing heat when I travel in Daytona. That's another story.) Anyway, after I assume he decided not to tangle with me he kind of huffed off in the other direction and took out a vape pen that smelled like marijuana. He wasn't anywhere near my truck when all this went down.

After leaving work that same afternoon, I got into in my truck and it completely reeked of marijuana the moment I sat down inside, and did for days afterward.

Today (weeks after the above incident) I got about a half mile down the road and my husband looked at me and asked, "Do you smell marijuana?" So, I know I'm not going crazy, and the smell is very distinct when it is present, which happens at the most random moments.

I'm going to bet no one else is having this issue. Wish I knew a cop who was a K-9 handler to do a walk-around, because I'm totally baffled as to WTF is going on. Beginning to wonder if my truck is insulated with something other than insulation.

I noticed a similar smell in mine as well. I just assumed it was the new "new car smell".

My guess is that its the off-gassing from the plastics.

I have noticed a chlorine-like smell from time to time. I haven't pinpointed yet if it's when in recirculation or air from the outside.

What will they do with that information? What possible way would you challenge if they seem to looking into you as a suspect?
They’re working under the assumption the main suspect is the guy in-front of them. As you walk in.

It's unlikely someone would waste money to buy pot and plant it in your car. Also, never give the cops permission to search your stuff. That's terrible advice.

Take it to cops for inspection ALREADY!!

If they stop you or someone else suggests they check it out first, you maybe screwed.

Get the cops involved… that always works out in your favor

Drive real fast down I-75 once you get pulled over give the cop a bunch of sht. They’ll call the drug dog and get it sorted out for you.

I've noticed my Mav does not have the typical new car smell, and in certain conditions I've even noticed a hybrid smoke smell, kind of between a cigarette & marijuana. I'm wondering if it isn't some kind of unusual material used in the interior somewhere. It's a unique smell for sure, that I've never noticed from a new car prior to the Mav.
