Anyone get a 3rd party extended warranty

When we got my truck, the dealer offered extended warranties, which we refused. I was wondering if anyone out there bought or considered buying an extended warranty. If you did, can you share how much it ran or at least the ball park?

3rd party warranties are a rip. And forget it on a hybrid. If you are still under warranty, go to a dealer and buy a factory extended warranty from one of the finance guys

Don't go 3rd party. Go with Ford and get it online for way cheaper. Zeigler, Granger, and Flood are good dealer options that sell online for a bit over their cost.

Got a 10 year 75000 mile Ford Ext Warranty with bulb coverage through Grainger. Applied all my Ford Pass points at the time and paid the balance of about $1050. I'm retired and don't drive as much as I used to so I should do very well with only 75000 miles.

3rd party warranties are not arbitrarily bad. Many are actually very good, I.E. the one you can get when you buy a car through CarMax. But, many are absolute JUNK. And as an average consumer you may have a hard time determining which ones are good or not. If you can, there is no reason NOT to buy the Ford plan.

Looks like he is in Florida, can't buy online so will have to pay full price at Dealer. $3,300 for the Premium care from Ford.

I bought a 3rd party extended warranty on a VW Diesel a few years ago. Seven months into ownership, I had a covered repair - only to discover that the company had filed for bankruptcy and I was SOL. Never again...
