Airbag Recall - Nightmare or just fine ?

For those who got the recall done, how long did it take it to show completed on your carfax/dealer service history?

I had 2 recalls (airbag and underhood fire), plus csp for harness done back in early August and still shows incomplete.

Sounds like your dealer doesn't report their work to carfax. Some just don't so they don't have to pay the fee.

I had my side air bags done a week ago. I can report no issue my Ford dealer did a very good job. They also did the under hood fire recall along with replacing the positive battery cable for a recall also.

It's not reported on the FordPass app either? A more recent service regarding check engine light for the heat exchanger was reported to the FordPass app + CarFax within 3 days of me getting the vehicle back from them, but the airbag recall no sign of it.

Well same problems for me..... fingerprints on headliner, misfitting plastics, scratches on tint and worse of all scratches on both sides of dash where I presume they thru the pillar covers

Dealer said the would replace the dash, but not certain I want it done fearing even more damage. Anyone else actually have it replaced, how big of a job is it?

They offered to also replace the tint and purchase a dash cover instead, after I expressed my concerns on the dash replacement.

I mean they are being good about it giving me options, but...

My fear is that if my dash is replaced it may introduce new squeaks and rattles. Looks to be quite the job, out of warranty a dash replacement would run more than $4,000 (MSRP on the dash is $3200+). A tough call for me, still waiting to hear back from the dealer to see what they decide to come up with.

The scratches in mine are not real deep, and not real noticeable from the driver's seat, but prior to the air bag recall the dash was in 100% mint condition. Had the scratches been on the left side, in my view everyday, I would probably be demanding a dash replacement.

I *might* be willing to settle for some sort of compensation for the damage, still undecided on what I would be willing to settle for - dash replacement, or...

Just had mine done today, finger prints on the head liner, and the liner is now sagging over the rear seats.
Bringing it back in Monday for them to look at, clean, and repair.

Wish i had not had it done now...

Update: Took mine in to the dealer today for an appointment made last week to address the scratches on my dash from the air bag recall (caused when A-pillar trim was removed) ... they sent it out to their local body shop for same-day service... got it back tonight and am amazed at what they were able to do... 90% of the scratch marks removed, you now have to look real hard to see where they were.

My drivers side seat belt didn’t work right after getting the recall done.
