Has anyone had the Side/Airbag recall performed and have had it not been a disaster with dash scratches - Mis/Aligned A -Pillars and or new dash rattles ?

Mine is scheduled. I will take pictures of the inside and full truck body During the appointment. I will show this to the service writer. Maybe I will put a note on the header to use clean gloves.

My drivers side seat belt didn’t work right after getting the recall done.

So, because of the reported issue with the air bags, I am totally unconcerned. I may never get it done because of all the problems reported after having it done.

I don't know the specifics of the recall and what the defined risk is. But I have to agree that it should be measured against the very real risk of new trouble from having it done. I personally would not be in a hurry to get this recall done unless it were truly life and limb on the line. I would rather have a service tech do a hundred of them before mine rather than be one of the first five he gets to finger bang trying to find his away around a Maverick for the first time

Mine was completed 2 weeks ago with no issues. I took pictures and video before the appt in case there were any problems but thankful they did well on mine. I received Yeti mug today. Sorry to hear of your experience.

I’ve been waiting 6 weeks for my appointment, which was scheduled for tomorrow.
Called today and the parts “haven’t arrived” so the appointment was rescheduled. For when? May 15th!

I’m in a similar situation. First appointment was cancelled because they “don’t have the parts.” Reschedule hasn’t happened because they “lost” one of the side air bags and “Ford won’t send them a replacement since replacements are VIN specific.” So the wait continues with a standoff between Ford and the dealer.

Does anyone like passive aggressive posts with no data to back them up?

I do, very common here on MTC!
Just kidding :) lol
Too much good information so putting up with some BS is fine. I get some real good laughs most of the time. I learned never to discuss oil changes ever again!! lol
I get a kick out of the people who criticize Tim Bartz, calling him a Ford shill. Without Tim's helpful info about Ford, ordering, etc. . we would all have been in the dark. He says himself that he doesn't know everything but he tries to give us accurate info. He is also honest enough to admit when his info turns out incorrect. Very seldom his fault as we know how well Ford communicates with the dealers and us!

LOL- No doubt- I know my dealer has been doing them since end of last year- They first thought they could complete the service in a day, nope. They now say its going to be at least two days. Crossing fingers and such but the parts for mine have come in and its now time.

Friend at a another dealer had his done and he's still waiting on replacement parts a month later to fix dash scratches, A/Pillars that no longer fit correctly and a new dash rattle. Unfun -

My bags are on order for my truck. Reading this thread - I am seeing a 50/50 response with bad experience / good experience. Based on my experience with my dealership's service dept last week - I am not too worried. Will take pictures up front just in case - if I have to take them after the recall work - I have bigger problems :poop:. Drive safe out there...
