I am looking for recommendations for a waterproof tonneau cover without spending huge amount of money! I read some reviews on soft covered one's that are nosiy on highway, so I am leaning towards hardcover even though I have no justifiable reason for it.

Any suggestion or recommendations would be appreciated.

I got the cheap soft OEM from Ford- our points paid for half of it. Been fine since June! (in crazy GA/SC monsoons)

If you have the windows down above 45mph you can hear a tiny bit of flapping but nothing with windows up.

You mean you want to try and ensure no water leaks into the bed?

Only time I can hear the flapping on mine is when I'm driving over 60 with the radio off. Otherwise, it is drowned out by road noise.

Not water proof, as the car wash showed, but enough to keep things dry in the event I hit a heavy rain storm while driving.

I have the cheap Ford Truxedo one that I used my points on and paid $50 for and installed myself.

A little bit of water can get it in by the tailgate but I've never seen any pooling or anything like that.

Noise is a total non factor.

Get what makes you happy but the cheap one is more than sufficient.

This is what I bought from Amazon.
FeeTUO Soft Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover Truck Bed for 2022-2023 Maverick 4.6FT/54.4inch Bed
Price was $199.00 with a $20.00 discount and free shipping.

I am somewhat disabled but installed it myself in about 30 minutes. This included the the weather striping that came with the cover to seal the tailgate. I go through the carwash twice a week and get only a drip or two near the tailgate area. I took a 300 mile trip on interstate highways at speeds of 70-75 with no problems. Some rippling of course but never heard a sound.

Only waterproof solution is a bed cap. Water resistant you are looking at $1000 for a decent choice and adding additional seal around the tailgate helps too. I have the X4s for over a year holds up wonderful

I dont think there are any that are actually completely waterproof, but some get close. I opted for the OEM Ford Hard Trifold (just not added during manufacturing as that has always been a low % to get built at the factory), so I opted to buy it after the vehicle was built and have my dealer install it. I just got around to remembering to take a photo after it was raining, of the bed.

Note this was a 15-20min drive across town in one of those light rain...spot of normal rain here and there....wipers on lowest setting rain. So this was nothing like a heavy thunderstorm or nothing like that. But I have driven a couple times in a normal rain and same results. I finally posted a picture post rain (see below) and I will try and see if I can solve the issues where the water is getting in. It seems to be the back wall against the "cab" and mainly in the corners by the cab. a couple spots along the rails you can see drips, but mainly the red areas are where it is coming in. also note the water trail stays in the bed grooves and works its way out the back/tailgate.

I havent tried the car wash yet, but when winter here in Wisco hits, I am sure I will and see how its holding up.
