Nothing is "theft proof". People can break the window on the Maverick and push the unlock button and the tailgate unlocks. But for keeping the things under the tonneau under lock the genuine Ford Advantage folding back flip tonneau is second to none for strength and convenience.

This

locks and bars only prevent casual thieves

Roll N Lock has been fabulous for me. Had one on my Tundra for 10 years. Just had Rack Attack install on my new Maverick

Theft proof, not going to happen for someone who really wants to get in.
Water proof, definitely not the Ford tri-fold

I have the Synetic Tonneau, it's VERY well made, nice and sturdy, with dual locks. The owner/managing partner at work has the more expensive Roll-N-Lock on his F150, and I like my Synetic better. That said, they are very similar in construction, although the Roll-N-Lock only has a single lock, and feels slightly 'lighter'. After adding the 2nd roll of weatherstripping to the bulkhead, mine is pretty much water tight. (You'll need weatherstripping for the tailgate if you want to weather proof the storage, which isn't included with most Tonneau covers).

As mentioned nothing is theft proof, the cab, an angle grinder will still go through a hard tonneau cover, although still a lot more difficult than smashing a window. It does keep those items out of sight, making them less likely to choose your vehicle over the an easier mark with a soft, or no cover.

Installed the Retrax Retractable Tonneau Cover - good quality easy installation and my bed has been dry even during the torrential rain events we enjoy here in Florida

Hi, I am looking for recommendations for a theft-proof, water proof tonneau cover for Maverick 2023. (4.5 ft bed). Did anybody have experience with syneticusa? https://www.syneticusa.com/products...ble-hard-tonneau-cover?variant=49508635312445
My recommendation is the SyneticUSA retractable tonneau cover. There is no water proof cover but it is secure with 2 locks. I like it. Looks great and it is water resistant Rain is not an issue but a little water enters from car washes but not much.

Thanks, I appreciate the info
