Since they were using this eCVT setup in the Lincoln Corsair or Nautilus from 2023 - no good stats available on it from that?

exactly, and... why would Ford not market this and tell people about it as a feature?

if the HF55 traction motor and generator are better, why not say that? why did this have to come from Wired magazine?

It came directly from the product manager for the Maverick, or transition manager whatever they call it. So Ford is saying it.

She is the source, quoted numerous times by Wired. Ford is selling these faster than they can make them. They don’t really need to do a lot of marketing it would be wasteful.

Why did Ford make big time upgrades to the 2.0 EB and not highlight those?

when has ford ever had a press release about an incremental transmission update? I don't see any press releases on the hf45 replacing the hf35

seems like telling people that it has more electric motor capacity would be a thing you could use to sell trucks?

to be clear:

I'm not doubting this. I'm confused as to why Ford didn't put this SOMEWHERE in the specifications, order guide, or even just tell people when the 2025 press embargo was removed.

I really like my 2024 AWD Lariat, I actually need the AWD and am completely happy with my Ecoboost mpg’s and am very happy with my Ecoboost’s power.
I Lurve my Turbo.
At this point in my life, Retired but working by choice I’m at a point where I can buy a new vehicle every four or five years.
This Maverick of mine I may keep an extra year or two. I like it that much. It has grown on me.

But in a perfect world where we could design our own Mavericks
I’d want,
The 2.0Liter Turbo with the H55 transaxle and the larger electric motors and the
4K package with its lower rear end ratio.
Plus a battery double or triple the capacity of the current 2925 Hybrid.

Bigger battery, 2.0L Turbo, and all the Tow stuff.
Yeah the city and highway mpg’s would be a little lower but the outright performance, oh yea.
The 2.0L Turbo AND the electric power all at once ! Oh yeah Brothers,

I’d like my Maverick to press me back into my seat like the V-8’s of old.

I think my truck is sexy~~~
It’s coming. It’s already in the Nautilus. So the HF55 can do it and it can be done with the 2.0eb. Maybe I need to do an engine swap 😂

I think the AWD 4K Hybrid selling just fine. Lots of fanfare about.

Ford can’t even decide what to call the HF55 let alone customers able to understand how it works. Hybrid AWD 4K tow. That sells the Maverick on its own.

But, I downloaded TWO versions of the 2025 Maverick Owner's manual and there was no section for specifications, weights, and measures etc. Odd.

They should list capacities and capabilities.

The ONLY "official" documentation stated the power ratings were unchanged for 2025. It was pre-production sure, but I've not yet seen a post production release.

DOFE cuts?

True - wait on marketing once you've gotten thru the current Maverick owners itching for an upgrade, and those waiting to buy one until the AWD came out.

If any room in the production line after that - then start marketing with details.
As the only game in town for what it is - not a whole lot needed for marketing.
Especially trying to get those 24's sold!

Good grief - so close to June already - when do orders normally end?

If it follows a normal model year calendar, you'll probably see 2025 order books close in June and then 2026 orders start in July.

throughout MY25 there has been a very low retail order bank and most of the trucks are getting built as dealer stock.

ETA: 3 minutes late and probably $3 short.

Appears official Spec Sheet is not correct either for the motors. Or Canada gets the old tranny?

https://cdn.motor1.com/pdf-files/2025-ford-maverick-tech-specs-july-31.pdf

Or from Ford's site. Ya - I guess not known for accuracy or updating.

Think man think !
Ford must improve the Mavrick but the reason they don’t advertise improvements is they cannot keep up with demand now.
Wait times are so long it hurts truck sales.
Hurts Fords Reputation.

Besides that it would make current owners feel like their Maverick is sub standard or obsolete after just one year of ownership.
You do not build a fan base like that. Ford knows this. They did it the right way with the Mustang, the real one, and the F-150.

If they were to build a more powerful larger electric/battery system and shove the Turbo Ecoboost smooth up in there. AWD obviously.
Everyone that could afford it would jump. Then there’d be big numbers of used Mavericks at low prices.
And owners of one year old Mavericks would feel heavy depreciation to the point they would be very upset.

Then there’s the possibility that a $50,000 Maverick will not sell.
